three timelines:
1) the Congo
2) international events
3) Joseph Conrad
STEP 1: THE TIMELINE: - CONGO
• Create an annotated timeline that details significant elements of the
region’s history from its earliest time to modern day.
• Significant Arrivals – including Europeans and other populations
• Significant Changes that occurred due to these arrivals
• Significant Events (conquest, major shifts in power, economic
transformations)
• Significant Elements (Political systems, social beliefs, or institutions)
STEP 2: THE TIMELINE: - INTERNATIONAL
• Create an annotated timeline that details significant events /rulers from
around the world that influenced this region or other regions that influenced
this region.
STEP 3: THE TIMELINE: - JOSEPH CONRAD
• Create an annotated timeline that details significant events within Conrad’s
life.
STEP 4: ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY
• Document credible sources, using an annotated
bibliography format.
Annotated Bibliographies answer the following questions:
• What is a summary of this site?
• Why is the information in this site significant?
• How am I going to use the information within this
site?
• How credible is this source? How do I know?
• How would I critique this site?

colorful.

format
• Timeline and Annotated Bibliography due Thursday,
October 1st at the beginning of class.
