Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Center
Our Center is devoted to providing consultative diagnostic and management services for patients with
Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders and neurodegenerative illnesses.
Most of our referrals come from general neurologists seeking a second opinion or assistance in the
management of patients with complicated clinical problems, however, we are happy to see patients
without physician referral. Our approach is to provide care that is both comprehensive and pragmatic,
with a focus on treatments to improve daily functioning. Neurodiagnostic studies are utilized where
indicated, with an emphasis placed on the diagnostic value of a detailed neurologic history and movement
disorders examination. Our experience covers the entire range of movement disorders, with particular
interest in Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, deep brain stimulation surgery, botulinum toxin injections, and
tardive dyskinesia. Together with you and your family, we will design a comprehensive, coordinated,
treatment program tailored to your needs and lifestyle.

Deep Brain Stimulation
Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is an approved treatment for patients with tremor, dystonia and Parkinson's
Disease when oral medications are no longer adequate. DBS uses a surgically implanted device called a
neurostimulator—similar to a heart pacemaker—to deliver electrical stimulation to targeted areas in the
brain that control movement. We offer DBS for carefully selected patients with Parkinson’s disease,
dystonia, essential tremor and chorea. Our DBS services include pre-operative evaluation and postoperative programming and management.
Botulinum Toxin Injections
Botulinum toxin injections are FDA approved for the management of cervical dystonia, blepharospasm,
hemifacial spasm, spasticity, axillary hyperhydrosis and chronic migraine headaches. Off-label uses
include sialorrhea (drooling), oromandibular and limb dystonia. We offer botulinum toxin injections for
cervical dystonia, oromandibular dystonia, writer’s cramp, limb spasticity, drooling, blepharospasm,
hemifacial spasm and chronic migraines.
Tardive dyskinesia
Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a permanent movement disorder caused by a previous exposure to neuroleptic
or antipsychotic medications. TD may take many forms and is considered underrecognized and underdiagnosed. We offer consultative and management services for patients with drug-induced Parkinsonism,
tardive dyskinesia, akathisa and other drug-induced movement disorders.
