Version 4.6 R4 New Feature Highlights www.dreamreport.net Summary of New Functionality Dynamic Image Display Pivot table (“Group By” support in SQL table) FTP downloader OLE DB support for SQL queries Concurrent report generator New web portal New web object – a “Tree” object New WebAPI parameters for web reports Enhanced web dynamic objects New and Updated/Enhanced Communication Drivers The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology Dynamic Image Display Pictures/Images can be added to a report in 3 different ways: 1. Reference a static image file 2. Reference an image dynamically from a file, with the option of referencing different image files based on one or more conditions 3. Reference an image stored in a SQL database (i.e., a SQL “BLOB”) through the use of a SQL query The Benefit: 1. Display images based on different conditions (e.g., based on a valve state at report generation time) 2. Display images stored in databases (e.g., an inspection photo) The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology Dynamic Image Display The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology Pivot Table (“Group By”) support in SQL Table 1. Perform “Group By” operations in the SQL Table object 2. Display "data blocks" for each grouped data sub-set 3. Can perform intermediate aggregations (on sub-groups) The Benefit: 1. Data better organized and grouped for visual impact 2. Useful for “traditional” MES-type reporting, as well as grouping by batch, date, etc. 3. Subtotals/aggregates by group for easier data analysis The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology Pivot Table (“Group By”) support in SQL Table The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology FTP Downloader FTP Transfer Engine 1. Enables periodically downloading of data files from FTP server(s) 2. Files can then be used as data sources for reporting in Dream Report 3. An FTP definition is a collection of one or more FTP sites containing the same type of files to be transferred - for instance, if there are number of distributed recorders all logging the same type of data (e.g., CSV files from emissions recorders, DAT files from temperature recorders, etc.) The Benefit: 1. Automate the downloading and reporting of log files from distributed recorders (e.g., Emissions, Temperature, etc.) 2. No custom HMI (or other) coding needed to do this 3. Automate reporting from such devices The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology FTP Downloader The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology OLE-DB Support for SQL Queries 1. Previously, custom SQL queries through ODBC interface only 2. OLE DB interface is now an option as well The Benefit: 1. No “external” ODBC configuration needed – database connection definition fully contained inside Dream Report project 2. Enable using SQL queries in reporting for historians, which do not have ODBC interface available The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology OLE-DB Support for SQL Queries The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology Concurrent Report Generator New Power Generator™ technology: 1. Enables Runtime engine to generate multiple reports simultaneously 2. Number of concurrent generation queues is tunable – default is 5, up to 50! The Benefit: 1. Extremely important for projects with many concurrent web users – much faster response times when generating reports 2. Important for large plant applications with many scheduled reports 3. Technology responds to big cross-plant requests The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology New Web Portal 1. Modernized “look and feel” 2. Set of predefined portal “themes” – 17 to choose from 3. Significant performance improvement - report pages are loaded and updated considerably faster. 4. Ability to set auto-refresh period for a specific web report (not as a global parameter as before). Web report will be automatically refreshed The Benefit: 1. Between the web portal performance improvements, and the ability of concurrent report generation, using Dream Report web portal is seriously faster! The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology New “Tree” Web Object 1. Dynamic interactive web object 2. For selecting tags from a driver with hierarchical tag structure 3. The selected group, or sub-group, can then be used to filter an associated Combo Box which has been configured to display a tag/item list. The Benefit: 1. No longer limited to “flat” tag browsing in DRWeb – faster tag discovery and selection 2. Support for hierarchical tag structures in Historians The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology New “Tree” Web Object The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology New Web API Parameters for Web Reports Report generation service can be requested from a URL: http:/hostname/DRWeb/WebAPI/GenReport.aspx?report=PDF%20Report&start=2015-08-11%2012:13:14&stop=2015-0812%2013:14:15&ptype=abs&param1=1&param2=3&param3=hello • • • • • • • • report –report name to be generated instance – instance name of the specified report ptype – time period type for report generation format – contains format of report to be generated target – contains output target for report (2 for printer, 16 for email) username – user name passwd – password for user param(s) – additional parameters to pass into a report (BatchID, Line #, etc.) The Benefit: Tighter Dream Report integration with “external” applications - HMI’s, Web Portals, Custom applications, etc. The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology Enhanced Web Dynamic Objects 1. New options in web objects (Action Button and Hyperlink) for report generation 2. Same unified configuration user interface to pass dynamic parameters and select report targets (email, printer). The Leader in Industrial Reporting Technology New and Enhanced/Updated Communication Drivers New Drivers: 1. 2. 3. 4. Wonderware driver for 2014 R2 Historical Alarms (using both WW SDK and oData) Mitsubishi Electric - SLMP Ethernet driver for CC-Link Rockwell RSView historical values (*.dbf) driver Batch monitor driver for Yokogawa recorders Enhanced Drivers: 1.
