Moving Forward By Forgetting

Today’s Message
I have complete confidence in the
gospel; it is God’s power to save all
who believe, first the Jews and also
the Gentiles. 17 For the gospel
reveals how God puts people right
with himself: it is through faith from
beginning to end. As the scripture
says, “The person who is put right
with God through faith shall live.”
(Romans 1:16-17, GNB)
Now faith is a well–grounded
assurance of that for which we
hope, and a conviction of the
reality of things which we do not
see. (Hebrews 11:1, Weymouth
New Testament)
FAITH: Christian faith is trusting
God and entrusting oneself to
God through Jesus Christ.
Trust in the Lord with all your
heart and lean not on your
own understanding; in all your
ways submit to him, and he
will make your paths straight.
(Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV)
1) Entrust all you are to the
Lord.
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and
whose trust is the LORD. For he will be like a tree
planted by the water, that extends its roots by a
stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but
its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in
a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit. The heart
is more deceitful than all else and is desperately
sick; who can understand it? I, the LORD, search
the heart, I test the mind, even to give to each man
according to his ways, according to the results of his
deeds." (Jeremiah 17:7-10, NIV)
2) Stop depending on you.
"Lord, I know that people’s lives are not
their own; it is not for them to direct their
steps." (Jeremiah 10:23, NIV)
2) Depend on Jesus to help.
[The Lord] will not allow you to be tempted
beyond what you are able, but with the
temptation He will also provide a way of
escape, so that you are able to bear it. (1
Corinthians 10:13b, NIV)
3) Everywhere you move, move
with the Lord.
And whatever you do in word or deed, do
all in the name of Jesus, giving thanks
through Him to God the Father.
(Colossians 3:17)
4)Trust the Lord to make
things straight for you.
Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry
for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my
shield; -my heart trusts in him, and he helps
me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song
I praise him. The Lord is the strength of his
people, a fortress of salvation for his
anointed one. Save your people and bless
your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry
them forever. (Psalm 28:6-9, NIV)
We walk by faith, not by sight.
(2 Corinthians 5:7, NAS)
