FCCLA Meeting Opening Ceremony: President: Gives a rap with the gavel to signal the officers and members to stand and says, "We are FCCLA members. Our mission is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences Education." Officers: "Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge and career preparation." Members: "As we work toward the accomplishment of our goals, we learn cooperation, take responsibility, develop leadership and give service." President: The meeting of the Chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is now in session. You may be seated." Participation Hours! • Ten hours of participation hours are recommended for all FCCLA members. They are NOT required. • You have to have “active member” hours that include events that you sign up to help at and attend. • Examples of this would be: setting up for events, cleaning up afterward, running the booth for Bronco Fest, etc. Cords! (There are FOUR different ways to earn yourself a cord) Requirement Options for Earning a Graduation Cord: • 1. Donate a gallon of tab-tops. Attend at least half of the year's meetings. • 2. Participate in a STAR Event or FCSA. Attend at least half of the year's meetings. • 3. Get a $100 donation for the Red Dress Fashion Show from an individual or company. Attend at least half of the year's meetings. • 4. Earn 10 Participation hours each semester. (Participation hours are hours that you show up and serve/help at FCCLA Events. ie: dances, parent nights, What's Great at Boyd, Fashion Show help, bringing treats or requested items for events, decorating for events, cleaning up after events. Attend at least half of the year's meetings. FCCLA: Meet at the Table! • We are still accepting sign-ups to be a part of this committee and to help decorate the trophy case! • We are using the hashtags #mbhsfcclaatthetable and #mbhsfccla for all photos concerning this project. • A sign-up sheet will be posted on your way out if you would still like to join this committee! STAR Events and FSCA’s! • IMPORTANT: It is MANDATORY that you go talk to Mrs. MARTIN after this meeting if you plan to or want to compete with a STAR event or an FSCA. • The last day to tell Mrs. Taylor how you plan to compete is October 24th! • We are having a workshop to help those who are doing a STAR event/FSCA/Power of One on the first Friday of every month from 2:30-4:30. • Please go see Mrs. MARTIN after this meeting to learn more and/or to sign up to compete! Bronco Fest! • Bronco Fest is on Wednesday the 24th from 6:007:15. • If you would like to help us set up from 3:30-5:30, please sign up! • We will have two parking spots – one for our fishing game and the other for an information booth to sell our bracelets (which will be elaborated on in a moment). • We will have sign-ups for both setting everything up and cleaning up afterward! We need all the help we can get! Fundraising Update! • We will be selling bracelets this year to help fundraise for our chapter! • Each student is required to sell a minimum of 25 bracelets. They sell best when they are sold in multiples (for example, three bracelets look better than one when they’re being worn). • This fundraiser will run from Bronco Fest (September 24th) to October 3rd. • If the fundraiser is successful, we will continue to sell more!
