Current Unit of Study Africa south of the Sahara
In addition to learning about the
geography, culture, history and
economics of this continent,
students will have an opportunity
to rotate through a variety of
activity stations.
Stations will include: Creating puzzle maps
of Africa, completing an Environmental Case
Study of Desertification in the Sahel, creating
Kenti cloth, creating acrostic poem about an
African animal, web activities about the
geography and culture of South Africa and its
neighbors as well as Rwanda’s Mountain
Gorillas.
Students will be asked to bring two
articles on current events taking
place on this continent, and a
summary of each in their own
words. Due date: April 5th.

night’s sleep.
2. Make sure they eat a good breakfast.
3. Encourage them to bring a healthy
lunch.
