Quest for Excellence in Higher Education
2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC
IQAC in the session 2013-14 organised a national conference on "Quest for Excellence in
Higher Education" to sensitize students about the plethora of opportunities available through
higher education and the ways to take advantage of them in order to excel as skilled workforce
in the contemporary job market.
IQAC interacted with the faculty members on regular basis to apprise them about the latest
techniques available to make teaching effective.
As per the annual practice, IQAC collected the feedback from outgoing students and other
stakeholders regarding their views about present curriculum and on the basis of such feedback
the college introduced the courses like B.Sc. CSM and Post graduate course of Management
of Leadership Development. IQAC of the college, through feedback from the faculty and
students, monitor and evaluate the quality of its enrichment programmes. It facilitated in
developing infrastructure and providing more facilities to the students e.g. construction of
more washrooms was undertaken.

2.15 Plan of Action by IQAC/Outcome
The IQAC at the beginning of the session chalked out the plan of action to be implemented in the
session 2013-14 and took cognizance of objectives achieved by the end of the session.

The college is affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala and does not enjoy autonomy for any
revision/update of regulation or syllabi. However, the faculty members who are members, board of
studies of Punjabi University, Patiala contribute by their suggestions regarding revision and up
gradation of syllabus. The University incorporates the suggestions while revising the syllabus.

2.6 Innovative processes adopted by the institution in Teaching and Learning:
1. The teachers are encouraged to use ICT tools for the effective implementation of the
curriculum. Most of the class rooms are equipped with LCD/LED projectors and all the
departments have sufficient number of laptops.
2. In order to impart the conceptual understanding of the subject, the Question Bank with
Answers, prepared by the faculty members for each subject, is available on the college
website. The students are encouraged to develop the conceptual clarity of their relevant
subjects.
3. The students are encouraged to take part in various workshops, industrial visits,
educational tours, field trainings and projects in order to enable them to get practical
exposure of the curriculum they follow.

2.12 How does IQAC Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching & Learning processes :
IQAC of the college makes efforts for the development of a system for conscious, consistent and
catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution and to
assure all the stakeholders connected with higher education about the quality of education provided by
the institution. IQAC is constantly working towards realizing the goal of quality enhancement and
sustenance. IQAC has periodical interaction with the students and the faculty to create a healthy
environment for teaching and learning. It invites suggestions from the students and faculty in order to
make the teaching learning process effective and student centric. It organizes seminars and interactive
meets frequently in order to provide a proper platform for useful interactions among the different
stakeholders. It also collects feedback from the students which is analysed every year in order to make
improvements in teaching learning process.

3. Research, Consultancy and Extension
3.1 Initiatives of the IQAC in Sensitizing/Promoting Research Climate in the institution
The IQAC coordinates with the research committee which works under the Dean Research. IQAC
ensures that the committee motivates and encourages the teachers to pursue Ph.D, apply for minor
and major research projects to various agencies like UGC, ICSSR, to participate in various
National & International seminars, Workshops and Conferences and to write research papers and
articles to various journals and magazines.
The proposals of the prospective researchers are discussed and recommendations are made to them
regarding their proposals. As a result many of the young teachers and senior faculty members have
completed their Ph.D or in the process of completing it. The overall environment in the institution
is research oriented and research focused which is clearly visible from the number of research
projects being carried on by the faculty members and their participation in various National and
International conferences and the published work carried out by them every year.

N.C.C. (Army Wing):

01 Cadet of this wing participated in R-D Parade held at Delhi in Jan., 2013.

College students Under Officers Vishav Kumar and Manpreet Singh participated in N.I.C
Camp held at Satara, Maharashtra from 11th to 22nd May, 2013. These students got first
position in Drill and second position in Cultural activity.

02 students of the college participated in Training Camp held at Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

10 students of the college participated in Annual Training Camp at Ropar. During this camp,
Vishav Kumar got first position in Quarter Guard.



4.2 Computerization of administration and library
The library has been fully automated. The WEBOPAC facility of the library helps students and other
users to have information about the availability of books from anywhere in the world. The library has
been modernized and digitalized and has added the facilities like N-LIST, program of INFLIBNET,
touch screen LED for the easy search of books, pest control treatment has been done to keep the
books safe. CCTV cameras have been installed for surveillance, fire extinguishers were installed on
the recommendation of advisory committee.

4.5 Computer, Internet access, training to teachers and students and any other programme for
technology upgradation (Networking, e-Governance etc.)
All departments have been provided computers with printers and internet access. Workshops are
organised for students and teachers to upgrade them according to the technology upgradation eg. the
staff at library was given training to handle new library softwares, Computer Science department
provided training to its staff to skilfully handle the latest softwares. All science labs are upgraded
from time to time and the staff is given training to efficiently handle the latest equipments. The
students have been issued internet login IDs through which they have access to the internet. As the
campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled, the student and teacher can access internet from anywhere in the
college.
The students apply for scholarship (minority, SC/BC etc.) online and they receive the status of their
scholarship online through e-governance media, in this way the students get an exposure about egovernance.

5. Student Support and Progression
5.1 Contribution of IQAC in enhancing awareness about Student Support Services
IQAC generates awareness about the student support services extended by the institution to them.
Following is the details of specific support services/facilities available for different categories of
students.
Students from SC/ST, OBC and economically weaker sections:
SC/ST/OBC and economically weaker sections of society are given scholarships and fee
concessions as per the government and university norms. These students are also given free books
from the library for whole of the session. The remedial, entry level coaching and other classes are

also held for the students belonging to above categories. The UGC has also given grants during
the eleventh plan for the above said activities to the college.
Students with physical disabilities:
The college is highly sensitive to the requirements of the physically challenged students. The
physical facilities as per the requirements have been created in the institution and every care is
taken to ensure that they do not face any hardship in the institution. The effort is also made to
ensure that they remain emotionally upbeat in the institution under all the circumstances.
Overseas students:
The college has one overseas student from USA . Though she is of Indian origin, yet because of
her upbringing in the foreign culture, she is given special care in dealing with her academic,
cultural and social issues. The girl from USA selected the institution to learn the Gurmat Sangeet
as hobby and same has been taught to her.
Students to participate in various competitions/National and International:
The students are encouraged to participate in National and International level competitions in the
field of academics, sports and co-curricular activities. They are provided with travel facilities,
boarding and lodging facilities, refreshment etc. as per the norms.
Medical assistance to students: health centre, health insurance, etc.:
The college provides professional medical services to its students and the staff. The physician is
available for the whole week. Health talks and lectures on issues like nutrition, abuses of drugs,
remedies of depression, stress and eating disorders etc are a regular feature. The college has a tieup with the world class hospitals like Columbia Asia and Amar Hospital. Under which Health
Insurance is provided to girls residing in the Hostel (75% of the charges are borne by the college
and students has to pay only 25% expenses of the policy). First Aid Kit is available in the College
Office and Gymnasium. Regular dental, cardiac, orthopedic and skin camps/checkups are
organized for the wellness of the students. Free medical support is available during all the college
events like sports, fests etc. from the hospital under MOUs.
Organizing coaching classes for competitive exams:
Dr. Ganda Singh Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Centre organizes regular classes to
prepare the students for competitive exams like UGC/NET. Soft skill workshops are also
organized to enhance the communication skills of the students.

Skill development (spoken English, computer literacy, etc.):
Dr. Ganda Singh Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Centre organizes workshops,
lectures and special classes to train students for group discussion, interviews and overall
personality development. Regularly students undergo training to excel in communication,
computing and management skills etc.
Departments are also encouraged to organize class presentations, essay writing competitions,
debates, quiz and book review sessions to enhance the spoken English/Punjabi skills, writing
skills and presentation skills of the students.
Support for “slow learners”:
Slow learners are provided with Personal counseling, Remedial coaching, extra classes, tests and
assignments. Meetings with parents of slow learners are also regularly carried on. Student
performance records are mailed to parents to keep them updated with the academic performance
of their ward.
Exposures of students to other institution of higher learning/corporate/ business house, etc.
Experts from industry and corporate houses are invited as guest speaker to interact with students.
Students visit various business/corporate/industrial houses to study and to understand the
working/processing of these houses. Further students also enroll themselves with these to
undertake their summer projects.
Publication of student magazines:
The students are encouraged to exhibit their talent/hidden potentialities through their writings in
‘The Patiala’, an annual college magazine. The college owns independent publication cell that
promotes the writing skills of the students. Departments like English, Punjabi and Computer
Science publish their newsletter with the creative writings of the students.
5.2 Efforts made by the institution for tracking the progression
The data of undergraduate students who progress to post graduate programmes of the college is
available and maintained.
At present the student progression rate is 21% which is quiet
significant keeping in view the national target, whereas data of the students who leave the institute
to pursue PG courses in other institutions is unavailable in most of the cases.

It is a regular feature of Dr. Ganda Singh Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement centre to
organise UGC Net coaching classes to make student competent. The centre constantly works towards
realising the goal of quality enhancement and sustenance. 49 students enrolled themselves in coaching
classes out of which 04 students cleared UGC NET.

5.6 Details of student counselling and career guidance
The details is as follows :
Dr. Ganda Singh Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Centre was established in 2010.
Centre functions with the primary objective of making student employable and good managers. The
centre is engaged in training them regularly on various modules that make them enter and adapt to the
organisation. For the overall development of the personality of the students, both in house and
professional external faculty is involved. Special Classes are arranged for weak students and

workshop and seminars are also held for teaching and non teaching faculty to brush up their
knowledge and skills.

One day Mass Career Counselling programme was organised in association with Patiala
employment exchange. 100 students from UG classes attended the programme.

3 External experts visited in the session 2013-14 to interact with the students.

2 Seminars on Overview of Secondary Market and Placement and Training were
organised.

3 Workshops were organised on the topic Soft Skills and Personality Development,
Building Leadership Skills and Financial Planning.

5.8 Details of gender sensitization programmes
The college makes every effort to sensitize its staff and students on the very crucial issues such as
gender, inclusion, environment, human rights etc. by giving a clear cut focus on them. The role
played by the institution in this direction is described as under:
Gender issues:
The first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev ji preaches the humankind that there should not be any
discrimination on the basis of gender and women must be given high respect. The Guru says
“From woman, man is born; within woman, man is conceived; to woman he is engaged and
married. Woman becomes his friend; through woman, the future generations come. When his
woman dies, he seeks another woman; to woman he bound. So why call her bad? From her, kings
are born. From woman, woman is born; without woman there would be no one at all”.

The college is managed by SGPC, Sri Amritsar, the apex body of Sikhs and it’s a specific
direction of the college management to establish a Nanhi Chaan Cell in the college and to have
special efforts for the girl education. The efforts made in this direction are as under:

The college organized a UGC sponsored National conference on Indian Women : Position and
Perspective.

The college organized ICSSR sponsored seminar on “Women and Crime : Problem and Remedy”.

The college celebrates International Women Day every year and enlightens the society about
women related issues.

The publication cell of college published 2 books specifically on women issues. The first was on
the poetry composed about women by different Punjabi poets and the second was a book of
articles on different women issues.

The college constructed a girls hostel where 232 girls are residing from different parts of the
country.

The college introduced 5 awards of excellence for the girl students of the college to promote girl
education.

The college ensures every year that the single girl child should apply for UGC scholarship for the
said purpose.

The college organizes one girls meet every year to make them aware about their rights, education
and other issues.

The Nanhi Chaan Cell of the institution organizes many programmes on women empowerment,
gender equality and health issues.

Every year the famous Indian festival Lohri is dedicated to girls and they ignite the pious
ceremony of lighting the Lohri.

The college celebrates every year the Teej festival with great fervour.

The college has started to publish a annual magazine of the hostel dedicated to the girls named
Dhian (Daughters).

The college launched a campaign among the boy students to go for dowry free marriage.

6.1 State the Vision and Mission of the institution
The Vision and Mission are as under:

The mission of the college is to impart holistic education, aiming to make the students time
and market relevant, globally competent, morally upright and socially responsible citizens.

6.3 Quality improvement strategies adopted by the institution for each of the following:
6.3.1 Curriculum Development
Some of the faculty members are members of Board of Studies Punjabi University,
Patiala at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. They give their valuable suggestions for
curriculum development. Such suggestions are incorporated while developing the
curriculum by the university.
6.3.2 Teaching and Learning
Besides regular teaching and learning, a few practices are followed to make it effective.
Remedial classes are held for slow students, booster classes are held for advance learners.
Special classes for communication skills, conversational skills, soft skills and analytical
skills are held to make students ready for interviews. Coaching classes for competitive
exams are organised. Mock interviews and role plays are held to prepare students to
appear for their practical examination. Educational tours are undertaken by all
departments to give the students practical exposure. Many departments show case movies

to students to help in their studies. Literary societies organise stage dramas, one act plays,
debate and elocution competitions to improve the personality of students.
6.3.3 Examination and Evaluation
Two mid semesters tests are held in each semester to prepare students for final
examination. The students of annual examination appear for a house test. These tests are
mandatory for all students. The results give the teacher an idea about their performance.
Answer sheets are evaluated with utmost care and are discussed with the students. The
students are allowed to take the evaluated answer sheets to their homes to practice
revising the paper.
6.3.4 Research and Development
The faculty is actively engaged in research. Many of the faculty members are working on
major and minor research projects. Some faculty members have been granted patents for
their experiments. The institution encourages faculty to participate and present research
papers in National and International conferences and seminars. The students are
encouraged to contribute their creative writing for the college magazine. Post graduate
students are made to present research papers in seminars and their teachers assist them in
preparing their research papers.
6.3.5 Library, ICT and physical infrastructure / instrumentation
The institution updates library, ICT and physical infrastructure instruments every year.
The library has been fully automated. The library committee meets every month to
evaluate the working of the library and gives suggestions for making it more student and
user friendly. On their recommendations, the library has been made fully air-conditioned.
The number of journals, periodicals, magazines and news papers has been increased. The
WEBOPAC facility of the library helps students and other users to have information
about the availability of books from anywhere in the world. The library has been
modernized and digitalized and has added the facilities like N-LIST program of
INFLIBNET, touch screen LED for the easy search of books, pest control treatment has
been done to keep the books safe. CCTV cameras have been installed for surveillance,
fire extinguishers were installed on the recommendation of advisory committee.
The institution provides full support to the department for the extensive usage of ICT
resources including development and use of computer-aided teaching/ learning materials
by its staff and students. The institution conducts workshops to train the staff to make best
use of ICT resources. Students are also encouraged to use these tools in giving their class
presentations and seminars.

6.3.6 Human Resource Management
At the onset of the session academic council deliberates on the number of faculty
members to be recruited for the session on the basis of the workload. The demand is
conveyed to the Directorate of Education. The directorate of education prepares the
advertisements to be published in reputed news papers and the date of interview is fixed.
Suitable candidates are selected. Orientation courses are arranged to orient the new
faculty members towards the working of the college. Every effort is made to maintain and
retain the faculty.
The institution motivates the faculty members to upgrade themselves constantly. With
this aim they are sent to participate and present research papers in National and
International conference and seminars. They are given financial assistance also to serve
the purpose. The institution organises conferences, seminars itself which gives a healthy
exposure to faculty as well as students.
6.3.7 Faculty and Staff recruitment
The faculty and staff is recruited whenever the curriculum demands it, the institution
publishes the advertisement in renowned newspapers through the Directorate of
Education SGPC. Interviews are held and suitable candidates as per University and UGC
norms are selected to teach the designated subjects and classes.
6.3.8 Industry Interaction / Collaboration
The College itself does not have any formal MOU signed with any other institute.
GSSDGS Khalsa College, Patiala comes under the patronage of Shiromani Gurudwara
Prabandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar. SGPC has signed various MOU’s with the
universities and institutions:-

MOU with Sheridan College institute of Technical and Advanced learning, Toronto
(Canada).
2.
MOU with Waikato institute of Technology (Wintec) New Zealand – Joint Academic
Programmes. As per the MOU, the programme is in the field of Engineering, Business
Studies and Information Technology. Students and Faculty members of SGPC
educational institutions are also benefitted by Teacher Exchange Programme and Short
term Student Exchange Programme.

MOU with University of Cambridge, UK to provide joint financial support for research
degrees of M.Phil, Ph.D for the meritorious Sikh Students who wish to pursue higher
Studies.
One of our students, Amandeep Kaur, got the opportunity to pursue her Ph.D
Programme in Mathematics. She has been the first student selected under the MOU
among the colleges under SGPC.
6.3.9 Admission of Students
The admission process is transparent and based on merit. The students can purchase
prospectus from the college or download it from the website and can submit the
application to the office. The prospectus carries the date of form submission as well as the
dates of interviews. On the day of admission, the students are supposed to bring original
certificates with them. They appear for interview with the Principal after getting their
admission evaluated by the admission committee. They are also given counselling
regarding the choice of subjects.

6.11 Activities and support from the Alumni Association
The institution is in the process of registering its alumni association. The Old students visit
college on a particular date prescribed by the college to interact with each other, to remember the
good old days and reminisce about old memories. Noted alumni are awarded 'College Rattan' to
the students who have excelled in the fields of Sports, Academics, Cultural during OSA meets.
Their visits prove beneficial to the college as they interact with the college students and share
with them their story of success. They also provide valuable tips to the college to strengthen its
policies. Our alumni also make monetary contribution in the form of life membership and
patrons. This contribution is spent on institutional academic and infrastructural development and
for organising alumni meets.

6.12 Activities and support from the Parent – Teacher Association
The PTA cell acts as a bridge between the administration and the parents of the students. Apart
from the PTA meetings that are scheduled twice a year, the parents are engaged in a dialogue
with the college through other activities like seminars etc
6.13 Development programmes for support staff
The institution organises various development programmes for support staff so that they can
handle the latest equipment, for example, the library staff were given training to handle automated
library.
6.14 Initiatives taken by the institution to make the campus eco-friendly
The college adheres to the guidelines put forward by the Ministry of Environment and Forests,
Government of India for inculcating environment consciousness in the society. Following are the
sectors in which the college is actively working and participating in order to ensure the
importance of carbon footprints.
Energy Conservation
Along with the academic activities, the institute is constantly working to make the campus
environment friendly. Efforts are made to make the most of the energy provided by Mother
Nature. The rainwater is directed to low lying areas/agricultural fields of the college so that it may
percolate the earth. Similarly, low-energy internal and external lighting (both CFL and LED) are
installed in the college and hostel campus.
Use of Renewable Energy
To use the most of the renewable energy the classrooms are designed to have maximum number
of windows, to ensure the maximum day light and air during the day. Similarly, by using Solar
lights in the campus, electricity consumption is reduced and also the carbon footprints.
Water Harvesting
In order to save the precious water, the agriculture department of the college is actively working
on this issue. The rain water and the tap water are directed to the experimental field lands and
different flower beds in the college.
Efforts for Carbon Neutrality
The college works on the principle of sustainable use of environment. To ensure this and to
reduce the carbon footprints, the NSS Cell of College has formed a compost pit using earthworm

to avoid carbon footprints. The recycling of chemicals is done in chemistry lab. The Stationery
items are sold to paper industry and the use of recycled paper is always encouraged. Plantation
drives are organized under NSS and Youth Club of the college. The chemistry department
organizes the Anti Cracker Rally under the banner of Green Chemistry Club of the college to
reduce both the air and sound pollution. Use of technology is encouraged to save the paper and
reduce carbon footprints and message is sent through emails and SMS through mobiles. The
construction department is encouraged to buy and use A-rated electrical appliances. The college
office uses double side paper printing, if required. Similarly, environment related educational
programmes are organized by NSS to spread eco-sensibility.
Hazardous waste management
College manages the hazardous waste like chemicals, oils, pesticides, cleaners. Each type of
waste is collected in different containers and is disposed accordingly so that it may not
contaminate the environment and increase the carbon footprints.
E-waste management
The college has tie up with Punjab Pollution Control Board, which has recommended a few firms
to collect the e-waste. The college dumps only the e-waste recommended by the above said
authority.

The institution introduced some innovations which created a positive impact on its functioning :

The institution made the admission process online. The on-lining of admission process
has helped improve functioning of the institution as admission process has become
speedy, more accurate, hassle free for the students and for the office. It also facilitates in
maintaining admission record of students for easy accessibility.

The institution made the library resource fully computerized. The WEBOPAC facility of
the library helps students and other users to have information about the availability of
books from anywhere in the world. The library has been modernized and digitalized and
has added the facilities like N-LIST programme of INFLIBNET, touch screen LED for
the easy search of books, pest control treatment has been done to keep the books safe.

CCTV cameras have been installed for surveillance, fire extinguishers were also installed.
All information regarding books has become just a click away, which has helped library
staff in efficiently running the library and for quick dissemination of information. This
facility has led to accessing library 24×7 without actually visiting library.



In the college library bar coding has been done on the identity cards of the students and
teachers which helps to maintain record of issuing and returning of books in an effective
way.
Taking a new step towards conservation of energy, the institution has installed solar lights
in college as well as in hostel.
MOUs have been signed with two leading hospitals of the city for residents of college
hostel.

Analysis of the feedback given by the students
Regarding College
Students have rated college as very good. They are mostly satisfied with class room facilities,
computer lab, Sports facilities etc.
Regarding Teachers
Students have rated teachers accessible in and out of the classes. They find them co-operative,
helpful and understanding. They had some issues regarding some teachers, and necessary actions
were taken by the administration..
Regarding Discipline
Students find discipline in college satisfactory.
Hostel
Residents of hostel are satisfied with all the basic facilities. They find hostel hygienic and secure
place to reside. They had some issues with food, water & sanitation which were duly taken care
of.
Extra-Curricular Activity
Students find NCC & NSS societies beneficial for them. They participate whole heartedly in
youth activities & cultural activities and bring laurels to the college.
Content of the courses they study
They find content of the courses relevant to today's time. They find the course work
amalgamated duly with theory & practical as per demands of modern time education.
Suggestions given by students
Students have suggested changes in canteen which are duly looked upon. They even
suggested hostel in the campus itself.

Feedback from Parents about functioning of the college
The PTA cell of the college conducted biannual PTA meet for every session.
During the PTA meeting for the session 2013-14, parents visited the college and enquired about
the progress of their wards.
The members of the PTA and the concerned teachers imparted the necessary information to the
parents.
Generally the feedback by the parents is very positive and encouraging and when they have
raised certain issues, the issue has been taken up and dealt with.

Title of Best Practice 1 : Sensitizing Students towards Social Responsibilities
Focus on: Social Responsibility
Objective of the practice: The goal of this mission is to make our students morally upright and
socially responsible citizens. More specifically following are the objectives:

To make them sensitive towards society.

To foster an environment that is conducive for the pursuit of betterment of society.
*
To prepare and train students in a manner which converts them into a force, which is against
evil practices of society.
The Context: The institution believes that no education is complete if it does not focus on making
students socially responsible. They are encouraged to contribute generously towards society by
sharing with the deprived ones, by educating their maids and their children, by keeping environment
clean, by planting trees, by not littering and by maintaining habits of cleanliness.
The Practice : It focuses on transforming our students into upstanding citizens by generating
awareness among them about various problems imbued in our social structure. It engages students in
meaningful practices that prepare them to fulfill the obligations as responsible glocal citizens.
Evidence of Success:

An oath in which every student takes pledge to respect their parents is administered by the
Principal at the onset of every session
*
Event of Spreading Happiness in which students present gifts and share eatables and fruits
with the under privileged children.
*
Blood donation camp and other medical check-up camps are organised on regular basis.
*
Celebration of Lohri festival especially to celebrate the importance of girl child.
*
Students visit old age home to celebrate Diwali with them
*
Keeping in mind environmental problems, plantation drives are initiated.
*
Students are encouraged to celebrate clean and green Diwali.
*
Nanhi Chhaan Cell plays a significant role in creating social awareness against
marginalisation of women through various seminars and conferences.
*
To conserve energy, CFL & Solar lights are installed in College Campus as well as in hostel
campus which also helps to sensitize students about conservation of energy.

Focus on : Academic Excellence of the Teaching Staff.
Objective of the practice: The aim of the practice is to bring forth the contemporary trends in the
arena of knowledge for effective pedagogy. More specifically the following are the objectives:

It bridges the gap between the theory and application of the academic programs to create a
skilled work force.
*
It empowers the students to endeavour into innovation and research during their student life.
*
It ensures the holistic development of the students.
*
It focuses on the dissemination of in-depth subject knowledge.
The Context: Our country is one of the youngest in the world brimming with potential which needs
to be tapped in order to create self-sufficiency in economic and social order. The country needs youth
imbued with the spirit of research and scientific temper. The academic excellence of the faculty aims
to transform the above vision into a reality.
The Practice: The teaching staff is in a constant endeavour to achieve academic excellence and
enhance teaching process in order to bring out the best in the students. In the session 2013-14 the
Faculty has undertaken doctoral research. Minor and Major research projects, published books and
research articles in esteemed journals, presented papers ,
attended
conferences
seminars
and
workshops at National and International level.
Evidence of Success: In the session 2013-14, 08 faculty members were awarded with Ph.D. 22 Books
have been published, 01 book has been edited and 12 chapters have been contributed to various books
by the faculty members of the institution. 20 research papers were published. 34 papers were
presented in various National and International conferences and seminars.
