Room G112
COURSE: Pre Advanced Placement Algebra 2
Text: Texas Algebra 2 (Prentice-Hall Mathematics)
CALCULATORS: We have TI84 graphing calculators for student use in the classroom. Students are also
encouraged to have a graphing calculator for use at home. A calculator can be checked
out from the library for home/classroom use for the year. Act fast in getting to the
library and bring your school identification so you will be able to sign one out.
NOTES: Go to my web site and look at the “calendar”. All power point notes are posted here by
date. You are expected to look here for what you missed in case of absences as well. Your
notebook will be graded so keep it organized!
HOMEWORK:
 Complete all problems, show all work, and grade in red pen. (all 3 required to earn 100)
 Prior to class, go to my teacher web site under “calendar” and check your answers.
 In class or in tutoring, ask about problems you missed.
 Turning in late HW by the end of the day on the due date will earn a max of 70%. The only other
opportunity to turn in late work is the following time the class meets and this is for a max of 60%.
GRADING:
 10% Homework/Daily work / 40% Quizzes / 50% Tests/Projects
 Students scoring between 60%-69% may correct a test/quiz to change the grade for a max of 70%.
 Students scoring below 60% must do corrections and then retake the Quiz/Test for a max of 70%.
 A stamp will be on the top of your quiz/test if you scored below 70%. This will indicate the date
your corrections and/or retest is due.
 Projects and take home quizzes/tests are not permitted to be retaken or corrected since you can
use notes!
TUTORIALS
A tutorial schedule is posted on my web site and outside my classroom. If you are missing many of
the homework problems, you need to get questions asked in tutoring rather than class.
CLASSROOM POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
 All school district policies and procedures are to be followed in the classroom.
 No extra time is given for missing class due to school sanctioned activities. You are required to
get notes/work/assessments PRIOR to the event.
