Human Behavior in Organization
Professor Howard Miller, Ph.D.
Course Description
Students who complete this class understand processes that result in varied organizational
structures. A number of factors which affect organizations are examined, including size,
technology, strategy, culture, and environmental conditions. Then, students review key
leadership and organizational change management concepts and models, so you develop an
understanding how to lead and manage change in complex modern organizations

1- Understand basic structural and functional descriptions of organizations
2- Understand key concepts in organizational leadership
3- Understand key concepts in managing organizational change

Course Requirements
You have 2 main responsibilities:
1. Read assignments from two required books. Conquer any form of testing or other
demonstration of your knowledge on that reading.
2. Study and report on a change management event, with up to 2 other colleagues. Oral
and written presentation required.
Grading
Course grade will be determined primarily from your total points on the course
exams/demonstrations of reading knowledge (66%), and the project (34%). Attitude may
play a role if indicated.
