SAS Tutoring Program
IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS
The Student Accounting Society’s mission is to provide SDSU accounting and pre-accounting majors
opportunities to develop academically, professionally, and to get involved with the campus community.
This tutoring program is designed to assist students in Accounting 321 through a series of drop-in
tutoring sessions.
Eligibility Requirements
 Passed Accounting 321 with a B or higher
 Available to attend at least 3-4 tutoring drop-in sessions throughout the semester
 Available to spend 1-2 hours of prep time before a tutoring session
 Must attend the Accounting 321 orientation
 Must sign a Code of Conduct Agreement form upon being selected to be a tutor
Responsibilities of Tutor
 Assist students with their needs individually or in small groups
 Help students develop their abilities through questioning, applying, and practicing concepts and
techniques
 Engage the student actively in the tutoring process
 Maintain a professional attitude while tutoring
 Be on time, stay alert, and minimize any distractions to the tutoring session
 Come prepared for tutoring sessions by staying updated on class assignments and/or reviewing
past class exams
 Be able to provide information to other tutors about class assignments if selected as lead tutor.
You will be added to Acct 321 Backboard roster.
Tutors will receive the following:
 A certificate of appreciation from the College of Business
 An invitation to the Dean's Recognition Event in March
 An opportunity to enter in a lottery to receive VIP tickets for graduation. However, students
tutoring both Fall and Spring semesters will receive guaranteed tickets
 Student Accounting Society & CBA appreciation event
 Student Accounting Society membership points
Application Deadline: July 22nd, 2013 at 5:00 PM PST
