NELSON MANDELA, HRH PRINCE CHARLES AND DALE CHIHULY AMONG
ARTWORK FEATURED AT THE WINTER ART SALON IN DEER VALLEY
ONE-OF-A-KIND INTERNATIONAL EVENT BENEFITS COMMUNITY ART CENTER
February 5, 2014 – Park City, Utah – On Friday, February 21st, Zions Bank and Stein
Eriksen Lodge will present The Winter Art Salon in Deer Valley to benefit the Kimball Art
Center. This remarkable weekend-long event features art Nelson Mandela created
recalling the time spent in his cell on Robben Island, glass sculptures from the legendary
Dale Chihuly, world-renowned abstract oil landscapes from Susan Swartz, and
watercolor pieces by HRH The Prince of Wales, and more.
Susan Swartz says she is thrilled to be showing her work among such talent. “Imagine
the jewelry of two world class jewelers, the sculpture of the world’s premier glass artist,
the lithographs of a talented prince, and the artistic legacy of one of the world’s greatest
leaders--brought together for a few days on top of our local mountain,” she explains.
“Also to have the opportunity to support the fantastic work and community service of the
Kimball Art Center is one I couldn’t pass up.”
Intimate Atmosphere with Global Galleries and Artists
Thanks to the Belgravia Gallery of London and the influential Holsten Galleries, these
rare pieces from Nelson Mandela, Dale Chihuly, and HRH The Prince of Wales will be
available for 3 days. Collectors can explore these along with world-class oil paintings,
jewelry, and sculptures available for purchase from prestigious artists Susan Swartz,
Linda Lee Johnson, and Alexandra Hart in an ambiance reminiscent of opulent Parisian
Salons from the 1800’s.
The Winter Art Salon Benefits Community Art Education
Funds raised from this premier event will be donated to the Kimball Art Center.
"The Winter Art Salon is an unparalleled cultural offering in the height of ski season that
ultimately benefits free art education and inspiring exhibitions in our community,”
explains Robin Marrouche, Kimball Art Center Executive Director. “We are committed to
providing the best exhibits and art curriculum imaginable to the students, residents, and
visitors of Park City and supporting this event helps us fulfill that commitment.”
“Zions Bank is pleased to partner on this unique and spectacular display of artistic
talent,” said Scott Anderson, President and CEO of Zions Bank. “We are particularly
pleased to extend our support of the Kimball Art Center and its free art education and
exhibits.”
