APES Lab Book 2015-2016
Basic Information
• Number the pages.
• Open up the first few pages for the table of
contents.
• Some parts will be in ink (A-E) and some
will be typed (G-I).
• If you make a mistake do not use white out,
just make a neat line across the mistake and
rewrite.

B. Group Members
C. Primary Question: Major goal of the lab.
To test the effects of fresh pineapple,
cooked pineapple, canned pineapple, and
pineapple juice on the breakdown of gelatin.
D. Hypothesis : what you think is going to
happen and WHY!
• You need 4!!!!
E. Experimental Design and Materials
• List all materials!!
• Write procedure in your own words.
• Discuss controls used (all of them).
F. Data/Results
• Table: show before and after measurements.
• Show calculations for % change.
• Use a bar graph to graph the % of gelatin
dissovled vs. the type of pineapple.
G. Analysis
• This part may be cut and pasted or typed an
pasted into your lab book.
• Answer all questions in complete sentences
• Experimental design can be written on and
pasted in the conclusion section.
H. Conclusion
• Describe the experiment.
• Talk about what you did to the variable,
including a discussion about the control.
• Use your table and figures to explain
your findings.
• Be as specific as possible.
• What happen to the gelatin when
exposed to each type of pineapple. Use
the % change to support your
assertions.

did? Relate it back to the properties of
