17th Annual Everglades Day
Saturday, February 20, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Join us for Everglades Day, our all-day family festival, with activities for all ages. This year's
theme is "Songs of the Everglades," in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Migratory
Bird Treaty. Enjoy guided tours, nature walks, bird walks, wildlife demonstrations,
presentations, exhibits, games, kids' fishing, kids' archery, face painting, canoeing, live
music, dance, food trucks and much more! All day free admission. Special features this
year include:

Florida singer/songwriters Rod MacDonald and Dale Crider
·
Reinaldo Becerra and his black Stallion, representing the Seminole Tribe
·
Ron Magill of Zoo Miami
·
Edward Mercer, Python Hunter, with live snakes caught in the Everglades
·
Animals from Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, the Palm Beach Zoo & Okeeheelee Nature
Center

Special guests from the Cornell Ornithology Lab Park just south of the Refuge entrance in Monte’s parking lot and ride the bus to the Visitor
Center. The first bus leaves Monte’s at 7:30 a.m. On the Refuge, mini-buses will be running
continuously between the various activities. A free handicapped-accessible van will also be
available. The last bus returns to Monte’s parking lot at 4:30 p.m.
So bring yourself, kids and grand-kids, friends, neighbors and students - don’t forget
sunscreen, re-fillable water bottles, and walking shoes - and experience the Songs of the

Lee Road Boat Ramp Closed on Everglades Day
The boat ramp and canal at the end of Lee Road will be closed to boaters all day February
20 for Everglades Day. Wildlife Refuge.
