SHOULD THE EU ADMIT TURKEY?
In this unit the focus has been on how boundaries are formed in the world. You looked
at historical divisions with colonial boundaries being drawn that did not mesh with
ethnic boundaries. In our contemporary world, since the fall of the Soviet Union and
end of the Cold War, boundaries continue to be redefined. One of the ever-present
situations in Europe, as you have read, is the expansion of the European Union into
Eastern Bloc countries.
