To form a negative statement, use the
sign NOT. Be sure to maintain a negative
headshake throughout the statement.

To answer a yes/no question, use the
sign NO. This should be followed either
by a negative statement or a statement
that gives correct information.

In English you can use the word “no” to
negate different kinds of statements. In
ASL, to say you don’t have something,
there is none to something doesn’t
exist, use the sign NONE to form the
negative statement.
