campuses.

The revised curriculum represents a combination of the best from the two campuses. This course updates and replaces ECE 23300 in
the previous Purdue Calumet programs.

ECE 36201 Microprocessor System Design and Interfacing
Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 4
An introduction to basic computer organization, microcontroller
instruction sets, microcontroller programming using assembly
and C language, microcontroller interfacing and peripherals, and
embedded system design.
Prerequisite: ECE 27001 with a minimum grade of C.
Course Outcomes: The student will be able to:
Write assembly and C programs for a microcontroller, interface
a microcontroller to various devices, effectively utilize
microcontroller peripherals, and design and implement a
microcontroller-based embedded system.
