2013.1.8 / Face to face
In this meeting, we confirmed details of the slides for Face to
discussion
Face meeting.
To conclude, what we have learned in the past year is, for
three technical teams, the potential benefits are there, but how
to appeal to potential customers is still a big hurdle. Therefore,
the goal of the next stage is to establish potential business
penetration solutions for technical teams.

discussion
doctoral students will be project leaders for three technical
teams (M-CHESS, Safety net, Greenhouse).
In the next stage, we will focus on:
(1) Field studies and target customers interviews
(2) Draft product prototype for each application
(3) Video recording for demo and field studies
(4) Technology readiness level evaluation
(5) Business model canvas analysis
3.
Progress between last month and this month
a.

Summary of key findings and innovation, and/or
Negative results and their consequences, and/or
c.
Cross-project synergy
 a. We provide some business recommendations for three projects respectively:
(1) Green House:The target customers could be government entity and farmers
group, which should be designed as rental business model;
(2) M-Chess:This system/ product should be built in new houses. In addition, we
have to simplify the installation process and emphasize “health” as one
advantage of M-CHESS project;
(3) Safety Net:In order to seek for installed base, we can consider cooperate with
the government, and integrate with other products for user adoption.
b. There are still some bottlenecks for three projects respectively:
(1) Green House:High cost and price for individual farmers;
(2) M-Chess:Complex installation process and compatibility with other home
products;
(3) Safety Net:There exists several similar technology is developed by other
automobile manufacturers.
c. Potential benefits are there, but how to appeal to potential customers is still a big
hurdle. Thus, we have to establish potential business penetration solutions for
technical teams in order to develop common business penetration models. These
models may provide different application scenarios and business insights for
whole M2M projects.
4.
