APR 332: SWOT Assignment
You work as a public relations consultant for the West Alabama Food Bank. Before
implement your tactics, they would like for you to show them some of your plan. Here’s
what they’d like you to do:
1) Research and write a SWOT analysis for the West Alabama Food Bank.
 Use the information you find at the organization’s website
(http://www.westalabamafoodbank.org), information you find online and
information you find in local media to help you.
 Specifically use the following headings; Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities and Threats. Then, use bullet points or short paragraphs to
discuss your findings.
 Your SWOT should be no more than 2 pages.
 You should cite at least 3 sources in your SWOT (website, newspaper, etc.).
Use Chicago style for your footnotes. Here’s a great resource to help you
format your citations
(http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html).
2) Based on the findings of your SWOT, identify 3 key publics you think they should
address.
 You just have to list the publics, not their characteristics.
 You also do not have to list them in order of priority.
3) Write one goal and two objectives that you think the West Alabama Food Bank
should try to accomplish based on your SWOT.
 Remember the difference between goals and objectives and what each
should include.
 Feel free to reference the planning lecture and the handout on our wiki for
more examples.
Make sure you use proper spelling, grammar and AP style throughout. It’s perfectly fine
for you to reference lectures, handouts or your AP style guide while working on this
assignment.
The end result should be roughly 2 to 3 pages with the following headings and
subheadings:
