Interns were asked, “What advice
would you give a prospective student
who was considering attending
Project SEARCH?”
Aaron’s Advice
Don’t be afraid to be yourself in a
positive way.
Be a leader and not a follower.
It is important to listen to other
peoples opinions and respect
them.
Alex’s Advice
My advice to you is to always
behave very good and be a hard
worker at whatever job sight you
are at. Also do not be such a
slow rate worker!
Dre’s Advice
The job coaches push you to do
better.
If you try to give up, you will be
pushed to keep going.
Project SEARCH will help you
with getting a job!
Mark’s Advice
You must be ready for work.
You will work with new people you
never met.
You must be to work on time
everyday to please your job coach.
Parris’ Advice
My advice is to be on time
everyday and do not be late.
Be a hard worker.
You must act like a responsible
adult.

Don’t be late for class.

My advice for the future Project
Search students is to be prepared
to be treated like an adult and you
will be expected to act like one.
Be prepared for the elements like
rain, snow and hail because
weather affects your commute.

Project Search is to stay positive.
Don’t come in being stressed out.
Take a few minutes to take a deep
breath and walk in with a positive
attitude and a positive smile.

out what you like in a job and
what you don’t like in a job.

At Project SEARCH there is a
good chance you will find
something that interests you even
if it cooking or landscaping you
can learn all these jobs and take
those skills with you anywhere.

My advice to students who would
like to come to XAVIER
UNIVERSITY for Project Search is
to OPEN your ears and engage
your brain so that you can learn
on the job and take the skills with
you anywhere.
Samuel’s Advice
I would tell them that I learned how
much grass seed I put in a bucket.
I would tell them some things that I
like are weeding and putting in new
mulch.
Also tell them it is hard to pull weeds
that have strong roots.
Tomas’ Advice
My advice to them would be to
come to learn.
I would also tell them that it is
great to meet all the different
people.
They also would see all the
different things on campus.
Brittney H’s Advice
My advice for students coming to
project search is that you have to
be ready for anything that is
thrown at you.
I have learned so much but the
best part is making friends with
people on campus.

I like coming to Xavier University
because it helps me know what I
am about to do if I go to work.
I learned how I can work
independently.
I also like being around the
mentors.

My feet hurt at the end of the day,
get yourself some good shoes.

I am happy that I came to Xavier
because I am around people my
age and we get it have a mentor
this year.
What I don’t like about Xavier is
working in the cafeteria.

I like coming to Xavier because
they can help me get ready for the

jobs that they have here.

I like working outside. Walt is the best
boss I ever had.
I learn a lot from him when we are on
the job.

and I like how we get to do
activities with our mentors.

I like coming to Xavier because I
am learning different stuff and we
get a mentor which I like because I
like to be around college students
around my age.
I meet different people in Project
SEARCH.
Zachary’s Advice
I like being at Xavier because of
the things that I am learning that I
did not know before.
I also go around the college to do
my job here a Xavier to drop off
and pick up boxes. To me, it is a
lot of fun.
