Introduce Unit- Students to study pieces that have made a
statement both historically and influentially. Introduce AssessmentPerformance- Small Ensemble or Solo; Composition- Either an
Arrangement or own composition for a small ensemble; Year 12’s
Only- Compare and analyse 2 well known pieces that have made a
statement.
Discuss and Analyse ‘Pachelbels’ Cannon then explore various Pop
songs that have used the Cannon in their pieces. Begin
Compositions, choose pieces for practical assessment.
Discuss and Analyse Mozart’s “Eine Kliene Nacht Music”. Continue
working on Composition Task and Continue rehearsing pieces for
Performance Assessment.
Discuss and Analyse Beethoven’s Choral Symphony –“Ode to Joy” ”.
Continue working on Composition Task and Continue rehearsing
pieces for Performance Assessment.
Discuss and Analyse Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture”. Continue
working on Composition Task and Continue rehearsing pieces for
Performance Assessment. (No Year 12’s Tuesday/ Public Holiday
