The objective of this project is to help the student understand the
many roles of the President, the powers that those roles entail, and
how these actions can have many historical and political
ramifications.
Pick four Presidents; one from each of the following time frames:
a. 1788-1824
b. 1828-1856
c. 1860-1928
d. 1932-Present
Match one of the “Roles of the President” below to each of your
choices. Do not use a role more than once. Research a specific
incident of when the chosen president played this role. Type a paper
to explain the four presidents in these roles in the following format:
a. Describe the incident. Include dates, key figures, and historical
background of the incident.
b. Identify and explain the role the President is playing.
c. Explain the constitutional or implied power that the president is
acting under. Be specific.
d. Describe the historical and political impacts of the action.
