Spin and twirl
When you were younger, you learnt a number of nursery rhymes. Today some people feel that some of these
nursery rhymes are too scary for kids.
For example, Humpty Dumpty’s end shouldn’t be so final. You could also add a stanza to continue the narrative
contents in the rhyme and give it a pleasant ending. For example,Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall ,Humpty Dumpty
had a great fall ;All the king’s horses and all the king’s men,Couldn’t put Humpty together again
Then came a man, dark caped and gowned,
He raised a wand and made a sound,
Up jumped Humpty- look! The yolk and the white
Came together again- and he was all
right!__Q: Extend and rewrite any two nursery rhymes, retaining the rhythm and the rhyme.Little Miss
Muffet sat on a tuffet,Eating her curds and wheyAlong came a spider,And sat down beside her,And frightened Miss Muffet
away.…………………………………………………………………..Three blind mice, three blind mice,See how they run,see how they
run! They all ran after the farmer’s wife,Who cut off their tails with a carving knife,Did ever you see such a thing in your life,As three
blind mice?………………………………………………………3.Ding,dong,bell,Pussy’s in the well.Who put her in?Little Johny
Green.Who pulled her out?Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that,To try and drown poor pussy
cat.………………………………………………………………..4.Jack and Jill went up the hill,To fetch a pail of water.Jack fell down and
broke his crown,And Jill came tumbling
after.……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………Note: 1.The
extension ( 1or2 stanzas) should follow the rhyme and rhythm.2. There should be clarity of thoughts.3. The stanza should include 4-5
lines.4. Make the rhyme on the drawing sheet
creatively.__…………………………………………………………………………………………………………

He said-She saidTry writing some fun conversations. Make sure that the flow of dialouge is rapid
and witty. Also try and add some complications to the plot so that the dialouge is not merely a stagnant exchange of words, but makes
something happen as it flows. For example, look at this bit of conversation between a teacher and the red pencil she is using to correct
the answer sheets.Red pencil: Ouch!Teacher: Who’s that?Red pencil: Hey watch it! You turned around so fast, you put all your weight
on me!Teacher: Come out of there-show yourself!Red pencil: What do you mean? I’m right here in front of you-you have to learn to
see!Teacher: Who is this child who is back-chatting? A note will be sent to your parent!Red pencil: Hah! I’m the one writing the
note!Teacher:Whaaaat? A talking pencil?
(She throws the pencil into the bin and leaves the room)Red pencil: How insulting!
Am I only to be used and never heard? And how can she be a teacher when she’s never heard of RPP- Red Pencil Planet?
Q: Try writing dialogues for the following situations:Between your mother and the knife, in the kitchen
she is using to cut vegetables.Clues:Amount and type of vegetables.Time of day when she is cutting.Knife is too blunt or too
sharp.Cutting limited amount of fruits.Bargain made between the two.__
Between a car( Honda City) and a scooter(Activa) parked in the parking zone of Treasure Island.Note:The
conversation should build an interesting little story. It could be a happy or scary one (depending on the dialouges).Word limit- 75-80
