Replenish per Foreign and pre KJB

REPLENISH PER PRE-KJB BIBLES and FOREIGN BIBLES
Much ado has been made about the French versus the Latin prefix "RE" in regard to the English "replenish."
Such complex, muddy water (smoke) is employed, seeking to obscure the trees by utilizing the forest, i.e., technical,
dictionary obfuscation. The plan is to interpret "replenish" as "refill" rather than "fill" in order to inject a pat answer, proGap theory, contextual pattern into the 1611 English in the several places in which "replenish" is used. Now, foreign
Bibles and early English Bibles contradict and deny that such contextual, prefix-tual patterns exist in Genesis chapter
one's three main passages (also in the other four places where "replenish" is used in the English Bible).
We are not recommending or even suggesting a change to the KJB but are rather supporting the KJB and its richly
synonymous use of words (admitted by the translators). Obviously, foreign and early English Bibles may contain some
corruptions and/or errors (especially the Septuagint), but we are not endorsing such Bibles themselves. What we are doing
is contesting certain science fiction based, contextual and prefix-tual claims and views by MILITANT GAPPERS and
their forced interpretation of "replenish' to prove their views.
We are making our case by examining the preponderance of evidence in such foreign Bibles, namely the French
and Latin Bibles, whose word usage deny that such contextual and prefix-tual distinctions exist, upon which some
Gappers claim and even insist, regarding "fill" and "replenish" in the KJB 1611 English Bible. Being limited to but a few
foreign languages available to us, we have settled for certain of these foreign language Bibles and early English Bibles,
but we are sure that others will also show the same preponderance of evidence.
If such language distinctions really are "DEMANDED" in the French and Latin prefix "RE," why not examine
such words in the Bible of the Latin and French language for the RE-peat and “do again” claims in those same languages
from whence we get our RE words? Both words "fill" and "refill are used synonymously in the KJB 1611 in the seven
English passages in which they are found. Such are reflected in the French and Latin Bibles as well as the Italian, Greek,
German, and early English Bibles as well. Surely, if a man can ignore primary English definitions of “replenish” in an
attempt to force his view of “REFILL,” then others also may ignore his forced definition to facilitate his interpretation.
You do not have to be a linguist to see that this Genesis One picture that is worth a thousand contradictory words
(and 50 plus pages of smoke and slander). Of course, we know that the pat answer for all this will be that foreign and
early English Bibles missed the context or conspired to obscure the GAP in Gen. 1 1/2, because they did not have that
special contextual enlightenment and discernment that their modern day Gapper counterparts have. So be it! So much for
self deception (which is the worst kind)!
Disclaimer: This article should neither be considered to be an endorsement of any other Bible besides the
King James Bible nor a suggestion that the KJB needs to be changed in any way. Rather, it is a repudiation of the
Genesis 1 and ½ GAP Theory. – Herb Evans
Tyndale Bible 1535 (FILL)
. . . and God blessed them saynge. Growe and multiplye ad fyll the waters of the sees and let the foules multiplye
vpo the erth. -- Gen. 1:22
And God . . . sayd vnto them. Growe and multiplye and fyll the erth and subdue it and have domynyon over the
fysh of the see and over the foules of the ayre and over all the beastes that move on the erth. -- Gen. 1:28
And God . . . sayd vnto them: Increase and multiplye and fyll the erth. -- Gen. 9:1
Note 1: REPLINISH, v.t. [Norm. replener, to fill; It. riempire; L. re and plenus, full,]
1. To fill; to stock with numbers of abundance. The magazines are replenished with corn. The springs are
replenished with water. Multiply and replenish the earth. Gen. i.
2. To finish; to complete. [Not in use] – Webster’s 1828 Dictionary of the English Language
Note 2: PLENISH, for replenish, not used – Webster’s 1828 Dictionary of the English Language
Note 3: RE words in English from the French roots do not necessarily mean to repeat or to do again. RE words
from the Latin roots often do mean repeat or do again. Tyndale in his Old English “fyllan” seems to have followed the
German rather than the French or Latin. Still, Webster’s 1828 and the Oxford English dictionary’s primary meaning of
“replenish” is “FILL.”

The Corrupt Septuagint LXX: Greek to English
And God blessed them, saying, Increase and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let the creatures that fly
be multiplied on the earth. – Gen. 1:22
και ηυλογησεν αυτα ο θεος λεγων αυξανεσθε και πληθυνεσθε και πληρωσατε τα υδατα εν ταις θαλασsαις
και τα πετεινα πληθυνεσθωσαν επι της γης
And God blessed them, saying, Increase and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the
fish of the seas and flying creatures of heaven, and all the cattle and the earth, and all the reptiles that creep on the earth. –
Gen. 1:28
και ηυλογησεν αυτους ο θεος λεγων αυξανεσθε και πληθυνεσθε και πληρωσατε την γην και

και ηυλογησεν ο θεος τον Νωε και τους υιους αυτου και ειπεν αυτοις αυξανεσθε και πληθυνεσθε και
πληρωσατε την γην και κατακυριευσατε αυτη
Note: In one of my favorite Greek restaurants, I showed the Greek speaking manager Gen. 1:22; 1:28; and Gen.
9:1 in Septuagint Greek (I know the Septuagint is corrupt, so don't trifle with me on that) and asked him if he could tell
me what πληρωσατε PLAYROSATE - Matt. 23:32 cf. Gen. 15:16) meant. I was told that it was no longer used in that
ancient way (FILL, MAKE FULL, or FILL UP - all 3 instances) but that πληρωσατε PLAYROSATE) was now used
idiomatically in modern Greek to "pay" the bill (i.e., "FILL" the bill). I asked him if it could mean to "refill." He said, no
and that PALI (again) must be used to indicate a filling again. The modern Greek for "fill again" is GEMIZI [see G1072]

German Bible 1912
Und Gott segnete sie und sprach: Seid fruchtbar und mehret euch und erfüllet (KJB – FILL) das Wasser im Meer;
und das Gefieder mehre sich auf Erden. – Gen. 1:22
Und Gott segnete sie und sprach zu ihnen: Seid fruchtbar und mehret euch und füllet (KJB – REPLENISH) die
Erde und machet sie euch untertan und herrschet über die Fische im Meer und über die Vögel unter dem Himmel und über
alles Getier, das auf Erden kriecht. – Gen. 1:28
Und Gott segnete Noah und seine Söhne und sprach: Seid fruchtbar und mehret euch und erfüllet (KJB –
REPLENISH) die Erde. – Gen. 9:1
Note1: The above three verses and words are the same in the 1899 and 1912 German Bible, the former uses the
old German script, therefore is not duplicated. The German dictionary renders both words “erfüllet” and “füllet”
meaning the same, “FILL” with a possible additional extra emphasis on “erfüllet” to mean “Fill UP” or “fullfill.” – by

Note: There much ado is made about the French and Latin “RE” prefix in order to prove a Pro–Gap pat
answer. Nevertheless, there is no consistent, contextual pattern in the seven occurrences of KJB’s “replenish” to
establish the “do it again” or “repeat” view in English, Latin, or French. If we are to interpret the KJB’s rendering
for "replenish" in one place, we must interpret it in every other place. Still, Replenish, Fill, and Plenish are
synonymous.
