Papers
All papers will be typed, double-spaced and contain the name of the individual writing it. They WILL
be turned in on the due date, normally at the beginning of class. (see asterisk on first page)
The length of the papers may vary; however, I am looking for the student’s understanding of and ability
to utilize the concept being studied, or in some cases the student’s ideas /feelings on some concept, not
the ability to fill a paper with “fluff”. This does not mean that I am not looking for references and
research to justify your ideas or position, it just means that I do not want a 3 page paper filled with 2
pages of quotes from the text or article.
Presentations
There will be a number of individual and team oral presentations throughout this class. They are to be
at a level expected of college juniors/seniors, meaning professional and well prepared. Evaluation will
be primarily on the ability of getting the point across to the intended audience; however, content,
organization, references and presentation style will also be evaluated not only by the instructor, but also
by classmates. An outline will be given to the faculty member BEFORE the presentation.
