SUBJECT: Career Exploration and Consumerism

SUMMARY: Evaluate career choices through informed decision making. Along with
careers, this course emphasizes personal financial planning. Topics include taxes (federal, state,
and social security), banking services (checking, savings, and other financial services),
investment options (IRA’s, CD’s, annuities, etc.), money management (budgeting), credit (loan
and sales credit), and insurance (health, income protection, life, property, and auto). Through
this course students will learn practical, valuable information they can use as young people
working and living in today’s economy.
