CNA Regional Testing Center Coordination Project:
 Northern Regional Testing Center for the CNA Testing is operational
 One CNA Testing site in Daly City started testing on August 25th and will be offering
testing 4 times a month
 Recruited 3 additional new CNA Testing sites and Test Site Coordinators; the training for
2 of the new coordinators was completed in August; CNA testing will commence at these
2 new sites during September
 Stat from August 2012 include Manual exams = 33, Written exams = 33
Workshops:
 IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification course offered in June 2012 with 29
LVN’s completing the week-long workshop. The next certification course is scheduled for
January 2013
 NCLEX-RN Preparatory Review course offered in June & July 2012 with 4 completers
 Men In Nursing Workshop offered in May 2012 with 42 participants. The next
workshop is scheduled for April 2013.
 Pharmacology Review Workshop for psychiatric technician offered in August 2012
with 9 student participants.
Committee Workgroup Participation:
 Bay Area Community College Consortium (BACCC) Regional Leadership Planning
monthly meetings to assist the BACCC with the Bay Region Healthcare Sector Strategy.
Next meeting is scheduled for September 2012.
 MA Forum held in June 2012 with 21 participants.
 Santa Clara County Mental Health Dept meetings to develop a new mental health
worker certificate for the South Bay Area.
 Curriculum development for LVN Residency (transition to practice) Program.
 MLT/CLS Forum held in June 2012 (11 participants) and in July 2012 (15 participants).
Other Conferences/Workshops/Meeting Participation:
 COADN director meeting and faculty development conference (May 2012); COADN
director meeting and conference (September 2012); Greater Bay Area Workforce
Collaborative presentation (June 2012); Mission College Tech Prep CTE Regional
Advisory Meeting (August 2012); Annual QSEN meeting (June 2012); 7th Annual Health
Science Educators’ Institute Health Science Medical Technology (HSMT) Youth
Leadership and Advocacy Institute workshop (June 2012).
High School Outreach and Career Pipeline:
 Career Summer Institute (CSI) in Mental Health offered in July 2012 with 26 high
school students, 4 instructors, and 16 mental agency staff participants
 Funding Andrew Hill High School Medical Magnet program after school medical
terminology course for the fall 2012 semester.
Grant Participation:
 Collaborated with Mission College LVN-RN program on the grant application for
Chancellor Office capitation grant to address RN program enrollment and collaborated
with Andrew Hill High School on the HSMT grant to increase opportunities for high
school medical magnet program students.
