Dear Applicant, Thank you for your interest in Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. Requirements for membership are: 1. Completion of at least three semesters of full-time courses, not including the current semester. 2. Completion of at least 9 units of psychology courses. 3. Declaration of a major or minor in psychology. 4. Minimum overall GPA of 3.00. 5. Minimum psychology GPA of 3.30. 6. Ranking in the top 35% of one’s undergraduate class in overall GPA. The deadline for submission is Thursday, September 22, 2011. You will be notified promptly of our admission decision. The Psi Chi National Membership fee is $45 and the chapter fee is $15 (total $60). This one-time fee provides for a lifetime Psi Chi membership and the Certificate of Membership and funds events organized by our chapter. Please submit a check for $60 (made out to Psi Chi) with your application. If you are not accepted to Psi Chi, your check will be voided and returned to you. In addition, please attach a copy of your Unofficial Transcript, available on your WebSTAC account, as well as a completed Psi Chi registration card. You may e-mail your completed application to psichi@artsci.wustl.edu or place it in Psi Chi’s mailbox (located in the Psychology Building’s mailroom, room 207A). Please be aware that if you choose to email your application it is not considered complete until you turn in your $60 check to the Psi Chi mailbox. Attached you will find a brief description of Psi Chi. Our chapter of Psi Chi sponsors several events for psychology students. Last year, we hosted a number of events, including an Applying to Graduate School forum and an information session on post-graduate degrees such as Ph. D, Psy. D, M.S.W, M.D. in Psychiatry and Occupational/Physical Therapy. In addition, Psi Chi hosted a Lab Smorgasbord in which professors will discuss current research opportunities at WashU. This year, we will sponsor similar events, depending on the interests of our members. Psi Chi encourages your participation in the events we host throughout the year. Psi Chi members also contribute to one of two Psi Chi subcommittees: Community Service and Programming.
