What is Psi Chi National Honor Society?
Psi Chi, a National Honor Society in Psychology, is an organization that requires outstanding
academic achievement and provides opportunities for students to present ideas, interests, and
research at a regional and national level. At the campus level, Psi Chi members have
opportunities to connect with professors, explore new areas of Psychology, conduct research,
and play an active role in the operations and maintenance of the University of Colorado’s Psi
Chi/ Psychology Club chapter.
To join Psi Chi, students must meet particular academic criteria:

Completion of at least 3 semesters of college courses (36 credit hours)

Transfer students must have completed at least one semester at CU Boulder

Completion of at least 9 semester hours of psychology

Declared psychology major

Undergraduates must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0 and a psychology
GPA of no less than 3.3 (not rounded up)

Graduate students must have an average of “B” or better in all graduate courses in
psychology
If you believe you meet these requirements and would like to be considered for Psi Chi
membership, please include a copy of your degree audit that shows your psychology GPA and
overall GPA (available at www.colorado.edu/plus) and a lifetime membership fee of $100
along with this application. The application fee is non-refundable. Additionally, you will have
to schedule a time during office hours to meet with an officer to review your application. Please
allow at least fifteen minutes to meet with the officer and to complete additional paperwork.
