asked Mr. Bodnar to represent her. The second spot is available for an interested
Committee member. The Curriculum Institute is a “wonderful opportunity to get
information about Curriculum process at both the local and the state level; to meet with a
group of people dedicated to having great curriculum. Ms. Hart has also found a special
appreciation for her own campus when she has had the opportunity to compare notes
with faculty and staff from other colleges. Anyone interested in attending should be in
touch with Ms. Hart.
2010-2011 Curriculum Committee Calendar: Meetings will continue on 2nd and 4th
Monday afternoons next year, beginning on August 23. The proposed calendar draft does
not reference receiving any curriculum proposals on August 23, the organizational
meeting, but Ms. Hart may add proposals to that agenda date in order to meet scheduling
deadlines for Spring 2011 (it is anticipated that there will be some curriculum coming
down early from the May division meetings). There will also be training for Stand Alone
Course Approvals, which is required by the State Chancellor’s Office and must be
certified by the end of September.
Committee Appreciation: Ms. Hart gave a “big thank you” to the Committee for this
year’s committee work, in attendance and in preparation for the meetings, as well as for
supporting their division faculty. Thanks to Teri Donat for taking this on during her year as
Sabbatical Leave Replacement for Debbie Fields. Ms. Hart expressed her hope that
many members of the Committee will be returning in the fall to continue with the
Committee and the implementation of CurricUNET. She assured Ms. Campbell that she
will forward the concerns of the Mac user to the CurricUNET team.
Gift to Ms. Konrad and Ms. Alvarado: Ms. Hart presented an herb garden to Ms.
Konrad, expressing the appreciation of the Committee for her ongoing support. Ms.
Alvarado received a plant and the Committee’s gratitude for the work she does to assist
the faculty in preparation of proposals and for her work on the College Catalog.
