How can I obtain academic credit from University of Phoenix?
You will first need to enroll into the University of Phoenix, as the credits that they will offer for your
prior learning will go towards the degree program you have chosen to pursue with them.
Where do I enroll for at University of Phoenix?
You may first want to check out the University’s Degree programs website to review the programs
that they offer http://www.phoenix.edu/programs.html and to select the one that you are
interested in pursuing. You will then want to contact their Admissions office for information on
enrollment: http://www.phoenix.edu/admissions/admission_requirements.html
After you have enrolled, you will then want to contact the University’s Prior Learning Assessment
Center (PLAC), http://www.phoenix.edu/admissions/prior_learning_assessment.html to
determine the credits that they can offer for the SkillSoft training that you have already
completed.
What information do I need to submit to be considered for academic credit after I have
enrolled?
The University will need some form of verification that you have successfully completed SkillSoft
courses and achieved at least a 70% score on each course. A progress report from the student’s
Learning Management System showing the completion and course score would be sufficient.
What courses are available for academic credit?
Currently there are approximately 3,400 courses that are eligible for consideration for credit from
the University. All eligible courses are listed on the Credit Recommendation Guide at this location:

What is the cost to register and per credit?
There is a $150 one-time enrollment fee at the University, and a $75 fee for each credit.
How many credit hours may I receive for each SkillSoft course?
As eligibility for credit hours will be determined by the University based upon each student’s
individual circumstances, it is important that you contact one of their representatives to discuss

Does University of Phoenix charge for out of state tuition?
The University does not have out-of-state charges. However, there are varying tuition fees based
upon the programs that the student is registering in. The University’s Admissions office can provide
you with the specific fees relating to your chosen degree program.

Are these credits transferable to another institution?
The University of Phoenix cannot guarantee that the credits awarded by the University will be
accepted by other colleges, just as University of Phoenix does not always accept transfer credits
from other schools. The acceptance of the credits depends on many factors such as: the program
the student will be going into, the credits needed by the student for their program and the
accreditation of the transferring school. However, a bachelor’s degree at University of Phoenix will
transfer into other Universities.
How many hours of self-paced learning are equal to 1 semester credit?
30 self-paced hours is equal to 1 semester credit.
