Orientation Workshop
Helping our students reach their goals.
Entering a university to pursue a degree is a big decision. The University of Phoenix
Orientation Workshop was designed to help you fully understand what it’s like to
be a student here.
Our three-week workshop will provide you with information that will help you make the right decision about
your academic future, and the tools to help you succeed. If you have fewer than 24 credits of previous college experience you must complete the workshop before you can be admitted, secure financial aid and start
courses. The workshop is not for credit, and it is free.
Here is what you will learn, week by week:
Week One: Online Learning System (OLS)
– Get to know the OLS features and tools.
Week Two: Success Techniques
– Create a goal action plan.
– Create a time management log.
– Discuss appropriate electronic communication practices.
Week Three: Electronic Services and Resources
– Locate resources using the University Library.
– Learn to use WritePointSM.
– Learn about the functions of the Center for Writing Excellence (CWE).
– Recognize the importance of responsible borrowing.
We hope you find the Orientation Workshop to be a valuable resource that makes your University of Phoenix
experience the best it can be. If you have any questions please contact your enrollment advisor.
