PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Thanks for a fantastic four years Silverthorn. I have enjoyed the vibrancy of the school and contagious energy which defines us.

Words do not express my gratitude for the rewarding experiences I have enjoyed in meeting and working with so many students in the halls, the classrooms and wherever sports are taking place.

The music and dance nights have been highlights for me. Watching our graduates walk across our stage and receive their diploma has felt like pay day!

June 2011

I am grateful to the staff that has made student leadership a central program at the school. The memory of our days at Manitou is something we will always share.

No matter where you and I travel, we will have a common experience.

If you are continuing, do your best at academics and make the most of the extra curricular opportunities we offer. If you are graduating, we wish you success in everything you do.

You are the best. Make us proud!

Ron Ellis

NEWS FROM OUR DEPARTMENTS

HISTORY DEPARTMENT

This semester History took students places... literally. During March break we travelled to

Germany, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, seeing such sites as Dachau Concentration Camp, the Berlin Wall Museum and Dresden which was heavily damaged by aerial bombing during World

War II. For the first time Grade 12 West and the

World students visited the Toronto Archives and had a chance to experience our city's history hands on. We also visited the U of T and a spiritual temple for Philosophy class and participated in the

Toronto History Contest at Monarch Park

Collegiate. Everyone in History wishes you all a great summer!

GEOGRAPHY DEPARTMENT

As the school year comes to a close, the department members wish all Silverthorn students a most pleasant summer vacation. Happy travels, sports, summer jobs and just chilling with friends is what you deserve for making it through the academic year. Best wishes to our Graduates in your postsecondary schools of learning. You are always welcome to come back and visit (let us know what you are doing). To the returning students, we look forward to seeing you in September. Yes, more

GEOGRAPHY…field trips, visuals, maps, issues, discussions about the land(s) people and the environment. In case you have not noticed it, you live geography every day. TAKE CARE!

SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARMENT

The end of the school year brings several changes to

Special Education at Silverthorn.

It is with regret that we say good-bye to Ms. Susan

DaSilva, our afternoon Educational Assistant, who helped many students with a variety of their academic issues throughout most of this year. Of particular note was her valiant effort to institute a

'No Swear' zone in Rm. 208, under which efforts to moderate one's language were rewarded.

Ms. Joyce MacEachren will also be leaving us. She filled her roll as Special Needs Assistant with consummate professionalism and good spirits. In particular, Kelsey will miss her, as she provided invaluable assistance for him in a multitude of different classes.

Next September, we will be welcoming two new

Educational Assistants: Arifa Bhagat, who will be working in the afternoon and Lisa Pasqualoni, who will work in the mornings.

We would like to express thanks to the many parents who responded to our invitation to attend their son’s/daughter's Annual IPRC review at the end of April. Your contributions are always of great benefit to our efforts to help students be successful.

During the Final Exam schedule in June, students wishing computer facilities and/or extra time registered with Special Education in order to receive such accommodations in Rms. 125-127.

MATH DEPARTMENT

Changes - Ms. Nieuweboer, Assistant Curriculum

Leader, is away on maternity leave with her second daughter - congratulations to Ms. Nieuweboer! We look forward to her return in September. Mr. Monk has stepped in to replace Ms. Nieuweboer for

Semester II and has done a dynamite job – many thanks to Mr. Monk.

Contests - The Waterloo Math Contests for Grade 9

(Pascal), Grade 10 (Cayley) and Grade 11 (Fermat) were written in February. Results are in!

Congratulations to Sara Szot, Sophie Vaccarino,

Chris Farfan and Giouzelin Mutlu for placing in the top 25% for the Pascal. Congratulations to Megha

Patel and Yida Li for placing in the top 25% for the

Cayley. Congratulations to all who participated!

The Euclid Waterloo Math Contest for grade 12's

was written in April. Congratulations to Grace

Kim, Samuel Chung, Ilya Nudnou and Jeongsu Lee who all placed in the top 25%. These contests provide valuable math experiences for our students and students are encouraged to take part.

Programming - We are pleased to announce that due to the great response and success of the enriched class at the grade 9 and 10 levels this year, we will continue to offer grade 9 and 10 enriched math as well as a new grade 11 enriched math next

September .

SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

We have come to the end of another wonderful, successful, and busy, school year. In the second semester Mr. Kumagai ran many science competition tests, with Erica Chang placing in the

92 nd

percentile in the Sir Isaac Newton contest.

Our staff attended a very inspiring conference which featured the acclaimed author and University of Montreal professor, Mr. Joe Schwarcz, as the keynote speaker. We hosted two University of

Toronto student teachers who brought a fresh perspective to our students, and they enjoyed this interaction very much.

We updated our technology in the classrooms, consulted with publishers about new curriculum resources, and we are now in the process of inservicing our department members in its use.

We are sorry to have to part with Mr. Adil who was with us this year as a long term occasional placement. He is a truly dedicated and fantastic teacher, and we will miss him very much in the department. We wish him success in the future, and hope that our paths will cross again!

Lastly, we would like to wish all our students a safe, happy, and long summer with their families, and friends. See you back in September!

BUSINESS STUDIES

We end this year on a congratulatory note, as one of our business teachers retires! We would like to wish

Ms. Zosim a very Happy Retirement! After 14 years of teaching at Silverthorn, she has decided to pursue her other interests. We wish her all the best in all her future endeavours.

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Lam has become part of our Business Department team and will continue next September.

The current economic situation has placed a greater stress on developing the financial literacy skills of our students. Our grade 10 Introduction to Business

(BBI) course deals with the topics of budgeting, managing debt, and investing for their future. In

March the Business Department organized a live presentation of “Funny Money” to over 500 students. It was a dynamic, interactive and entertaining program developed to teach students the fundamentals of personal finance. www.b-money-wise.ca

During this semester several business students participated in a conference called “Explore the World of

Business” held at the Metro Toronto Convention

Centre. It was an opportunity to speak one-on-one with Chartered Accountants and gain insight into to the process of becoming an Accountant. Topics included career choices, business etiquette, image consulting, work/life balance. As well, several students participated in the COIN Contest at the

Deloitte & Touche LLP Toronto office, a yearly event sponsored by the Chartered Accountants of

Ontario.

For more information about the business courses offered, please contact one of the members of our department.

Mr. Alexiou (Co-op Studies)

ARTS DEPARTMENT

The Visual Arts Department would like to thank the visual art students for one amazing year!!!

Congratulations for your amazing work and effort!

We would like to highlight a few of the special events we experienced together this year:

I. ARTS AND DANCE SPRING SHOWCASE

The art show was a huge success largely due to the efforts of two talented students: Joanna Yetter and

Hannah Whyte-Fagundes. As curators, they showcased students' artwork throughout the whole year. This was our third consecutive year in which

Dance and Visual Arts have collaborated to bring

Silverthorn a night to celebrate the two art forms.

II. SHERWAY GARDENS’ SMART STUDENT

ART SHOW

Eight exceptional students were selected to showcase their art work at Sherway Gardens'

Gallery. The school was rewarded with a $100 scholarship. A lucky graduating student will be rewarded with this prize next fall at

Commencement.

III. GROOVE and GRAFFITTI WORKSHOP -

JAZZ FESTIVAL

Two students, Shannon Taylor–Jones and Conor

Chaisson, were chosen to participate in a one day workshop where students learned the art of graffiti.

They were given huge panels to express themselves while live music, organized by the Toronto Jazz

Festival, played. A fantastic experience where street art meets jazz music....a concoction of emotion and creativity!

IV. GALLERY HOP TOURS

Two Visual Arts Classes participated in Gallery

Hop Tours throughout Toronto. This was funded by the Canadian Art Foundation. Students explored some of Toronto’s best galleries led by tour guides.

V. SILK SCREEN WORKSHOP AT THE LIVING

ARTS CENTRE

Students explored the screen printing process at

Mississauga’s Living Arts Centre. They printed on cloth and t-shirts. An amazing time was had by all!

At the close of this academic year, we wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making 2010-11 one of the best, and we must not forget to wish all of you a great summer holiday!

DRAMA DEPARTMENT

On Friday, April the 29 th

and Saturday, April the

30 th

, the Drama Department at Silverthorn

Collegiate presented a showcase of three short comedies. Each play was slightly different in tone, but with one common goal – to make the audience laugh.

“How To Succeed in High School Without

Really Trying

,” by Jonathan Rand, took the audience through a series of tips and tricks to help students survive the “four year nightmare” of High

School. It was a tongue in cheek look at life, love and learning. The second show,

“Check Please, ” was a comedic look at the quest for love, and finding that mister (or missus) right. It was also written by Jonathan Rand, was directed by Ms.

Gorman, and included a cast of characters trying to navigate the confusing, and often crazy world of first dates. The final show in our collection was written and directed by our very own Ms. Therrien .

“How To Suffer Through Life Without Ice Cream” was a dark comedy about a group therapy session.

It showcased a group of troubled and disenfranchised individuals, seeking help from a therapist with unresolved issues of her own.

All three plays were a roaring success, and the

Drama Department was happy to cap off its year with such a fun event. Furthermore, many of our cast and crew were honoured at the Arts Banquet at the end of the year, receiving a variety of awards in recognition for their talent and hard work.

MUSIC DEPARTMENT

The Music department at Silverthorn has had an intense couple of months, with numerous performances and workshops that involved all of our music students.

On Thursday April 7, 2011, members of the

Concert Band and String Orchestra participated in the 60 th

Anniversary Sounds of Toronto concert at Massey Hall as part of the combined ensembles.

These students took the initiative to learn extra music outside of class time, practice with the combined ensembles extra-curricularly, and they came through with an excellent show! The 61 st edition will take place Wednesday April 5, 2012 once again at Massey Hall.

From Wednesday April 27 – Sunday May 1, 2011, a number of Silverthorn musicians took over New

York City for a 5-day performance tour along with musicians from Forest Hill CI, W.L. MacKenzie CI, and George Harvey CI. In addition to two performances, our musicians saw a Broadway show, toured the Lincoln Centre, went up to the Top of the

Rock, took in a Yankees vs. Blue Jays game, and sat in on the NFL draft at Radio City Music Hall, amongst other events. Plans are underway for an

East Coast Tour after the String Orchestra (and hopefully the Concert Band) compete in the

MusicFest Nationals in Ottawa during May, 2012.

The first Monday in May each year is recognized as

Music Monday , a chance to celebrate Music from coast-to-coast. Silverthorn celebrated by inviting students from our feeder schools (Millwood, Mill

Valley, Eatonville, Briarcrest, Bloordale, and

Bloorlea) to come to Silverthorn and watch the

Humber College Jazz Ensemble perform. It was an amazing array of music, and we learned about the history of jazz in the process.

Along with the Dance Department, 45 students went to see Billy Elliot on Wednesday May 4, 2011 at the Canon Theatre in Toronto. It was an amazing show, leaving everyone wanting to go see it again.

Thanks to Ms. Duffy for helping to organize this event!

Music combined with the Parent Council to fundraise for Camp Manitou Grade 10 Leadership

Camp with a performance of Orchestral Zeppelin on Thursday May 5, 2011. Silverthorn’s musicians combined with Michael White and his combo to perform 13 classic Led Zeppelin songs. It was an amazing night, and one that we will certainly never forget. Our musicians were so impressive that they were asked to go on the road with Orchestral

Zeppelin this summer. Great job, everyone!

Thursday May 12, 2011 saw our annual Spring

Music Night in the Silverthorn Auditorium. Our

Concert Band, String Orchestra, Intermediate

Strings, Keyboard Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and small groups performed for a loyal audience of friends, family, and students. It was a great evening of music and fun. A huge thanks goes out to Mr.

Michael Manchur , Mr. Kissel’s student teacher from Humber College for the past two years, who came in each and every Friday morning to conduct the Jazz Ensemble. He is off to Nipissing University next year for Teachers College, and we look forward to hopefully having him come back to

Silverthorn as a certified teacher in the future!

Music participated once again in the Canada’s

Wonderland Music Festival on Thursday May 19,

2011 .

Our musicians were well received, and despite some technical difficulties getting into the park, they performed admirably well considering the time and stress of the day. We are already booked to go back once again next year!

All of the arts participated in the 4 th Annual Arts

Banquet at the Canadiana Banquet Hall on

Thursday June 2, 2011. An evening of dinner, dancing, and awards were enjoyed by students from all areas of the arts. Kudos go out to the Music

Council for their organizational prowess, Sound and Lighting for the dance, Visual Arts for the decorations, and to everyone else who had a hand in making this event a reality. It was an amazing time, and we look forward to the 5 th

Annual next year!

TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

The 2010-2011 academic year has seen growth and change for pupils enrolled across the department.

Students in the Transportation Technology have been immersed in the workings of both the old and new – from Ford Model T’s to model fuel injection systems. The Computer Technology students have been immersed in the programming and wiring of robots, robots and more robots. The young learners of Technological Design have been challenged after a number of fashions to visualize in the 3D world of

Autocad. While in Construction Technology, the olde adage of ‘measure twice, cut once’ has been proven real, as students undertook the fabrication of many original woodworking designs. And in

Communications Technology, mastering film composition with video cameras and creating 2D &

3D computer illustrated imagery were de rigueur for our young charges. We wish all our students a safe and most enjoyable summer.

GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT

Timetable Update: The timetables for next year have been created and at present every student has a timetable which will be ready for student pick-up in the last week of August during registration. Many of our classes are filled to capacity and although most students did get all the courses they asked for, in some cases certain courses could not be scheduled. We will be working with these students to solve these course conflicts before classes start in

September. Note – Any student requesting a change to their timetable in September will have an opportunity to due so. Due to the incredibly large volume of changes in the past we are going to allow students ONLY 1 appointment to make changes. Please make sure that any/all changes are made during that time as you will not be allowed a second appointment to change courses.

Scholarships & Awards: At this time, we would scholarships, bursaries, and grants that are offered at the university and college levels. Visit the

Financial Aid Office at your son or daughter’s postsecondary institution for more information.

Graduating students who wish to apply for the

“Ontario Student Assistance Plan” must apply using the 2011-2012 OSAP Application for Full-Time

Students http://osap.gov.on.ca

.

Qualified Ontario secondary school students applying for admission to an Ontario university who did not receive an offer of admission can inquire also like to recognize a few of our students.

Rebecca Koroll received $1000 toward her postsecondary education for winning the SPIRE

Scholarship. Lan Ly and Kristina Kacanski were nominated from Silverthorn and were awarded the

Abercrombie Scholarship along with several other

Etobicoke High School students. Congratulations to those individuals and to all our graduates!

Also, please be aware that there are more

about possible openings at other Ontario

Universities through www.ouac.on.ca

or call

(519)823-1940 extension 10 from July 5 th to August

19 th

.

Summer School: Students who have signed up for summer school outside the TDSB are reminded to keep a copy of their final report card and bring it to guidance after August 29 th

. This is especially important if this course impacts a student’s timetable for the 2010-2011 school year.

Summer Jobs: Students may want to check out the resources offered at Employment Ontario. Their south office is located at 1138 The Queensway. To contact them by phone: 416-255-8400. They will help students with resume and cover letter writing as well as interview skills. They also have postings for jobs across the GTA. www.jobloft.com

is also another great website.

Summer Volunteering: Students may also use their summer break to complete their required 40

Community Service hours. There are several good websites to visit to get suggestions for volunteer opportunities: www.40hours.ca

and www.pactprogram.ca

.

Grade 9 Orientation Day: Finally, the Transitions

Committee is working on the Grade 9 Orientation

Day which will be taking place on September 1 st

2011. This is an excellent opportunity for the new students to become more familiar with Silverthorn and to get a head start on their work habits and extra-curricular activities. Registration for returning SCI students will take place on Aug. 29 th and continue through until Sept 2 nd 2011.

Have a Safe and Enjoyable Summer!

STUDENT SUCCESS

Throughout second semester, the responsibility room program continued to support and promote punctuality as a key aspect of student success.

Students making the transition from high school to work participated in the TDSB Work Connections job fair, allowing them to meet potential employers and to participate in a variety of employmentreadiness activities. Students also participated in

The Ministry of Education’s Speak Up forum.

Student-generated ideas from this event will be reviewed by the Education Minister and will play a role in shaping future directions in Ontario’s secondary schools. Finally, the Catch Up Club was formed. In addition to the opportunities teachers are already providing, Catch Up Club offers students a chance to improve their grades by working after school to do late and incomplete assignments

HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION

It has been a fun and active year for our Silverthorn

Phys. Ed. students. It is our hope that your children will remain active over the summer months.

Students in all grades have participated in a variety of sports and activities, hopefully some of which they will continue to participate in through July and

August. They have been through some rigorous fitness testing, and many of them were surprised at just how much they could do. We look forward to seeing some familiar faces back in the Health and

Physical Education program in the 2011/2012 year.

Next school year, all Phys. Ed. classes and especially the fitness focus classes will be able to enjoy our new additions to our weight training room. The student council has enabled us to purchase a new rowing machine, a back extension apparatus and some new weights. The grade 12 regular co-ed Physical Education class will continue to offer a variety of new sports and activities that will take place off school property. There will be an additional fee for these activities, and the students will have a choice of which activities they participate in. The cost will range from $50– $100.

More information regarding the activities will be distributed to the grade 12 class in September.

Until then, have a healthy, active and safe summer!

Ms. G. Elango and Mr. S. King

COACHES’ CORNER

BADMINTON

Silverthorn enjoyed another stellar Badminton season. We had many new players however thanks to our community coach, Colin Low-Ring, many of the players achieved personal bests. Numerous players defeated teams that they had never beaten before. As a result we qualified a record number of players for the play-offs. During the play-offs our players were very competitive however we lost a number of very close matches. On the bright side the doubles team of Erika and Konnie Chang were able to qualify for the City Championships for the first time in their playing careers. At the Cities the competition was fierce and Erika and Konnie were eliminated in the first round. Congratulations to all the players and managers on an extremely successful season.

Coaches: C. Low-Ring and S. King

SENIOR GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

All incoming Grade 10, 11 and 12 Girls wishing to tryout for next year’s Senior Basketball Team are advised that tryouts begin on Monday August 29th in the Silverthorn main gym at 10am. The Tryout and Practice will continue each day that week (Aug.

29 - Sept. 2) from 10am to 12 Noon. You should plan on coming each day with proper basketball shoes, and your typical physical education attire.

Be sure to practice your basketball skills during the summer whenever you have a chance to stay in basketball shape. We have several exciting things in the planning stage to include an increase in the number of games and other teams we will play, entry into some weekend tournaments and fundraising to make this all possible. Have a great and safe summer in the meantime and we will look forward to seeing you in August.

BOYS’ VARSITY BASEBALL

This year’s season saw us experience the poorest weather conditions in many years. As a result, the baseball team was plagued with a great many rainouts which impacted on the progress of our more inexperienced players. The team finished the season with 7 victories and 10 defeats. We had moments of playing some fine baseball, like our 5-1 victory of York Mills in the quarter-final playoffs; however, we could have competed better on a more consistent basis. We wish the graduating players

“all the best” in college or university. Keep playing/watching the game as it defines the “game of life”. Congratulations to the team’s MVP of the season… Logan Ambrose. Many thanks to Rebecca

Koroll for her dedication to doing the statistics, and to Coaches Hall, Nigro and Panas for making sure the team ran.

JUNIOR BOYS’ SOCCER

Silverthorn fielded two Junior Boys Soccer teams for the 2011 season, team Green and team Silver.

The Green team was comprised of predominantly grade 9 students and was mainly a learning experience for the players. The Silver team consisted of primarily grade 10 students. After a very slow start to the first half of their season, the

Silver team went undefeated in second half qualifying in second place for the play-offs. During the play-offs the Silver team showcased their mastery of the game by scoring in crucial situations.

Their amazing play led them all the way to the West

Regional Finals where they lost a heart-breaker in poor weather conditions. It was a pleasure to coach the team, well done gentlemen. Coach S. King

GIRLS’ FLAG FOOTBALL

The 2011 Flag Football season was exciting to say the least. We had a competitive regular season finishing with a record of 5 wins and 3 losses. This gave us a second place finish overall in our division.

The 5 wins included two big wins over Richview

CI, who we ended up facing in the West Region

Semi-finals. Needless to say Richview was very hungry for this win. We gave them some very strong competition throughout the game, keeping it scoreless right to the last few plays. However in the last 3 plays of the game, Richview got away with the winning touchdown. The lady Spartans put up a strong fight, and we are still holding our heads high.

We are looking forward to bringing the plaque back home next season! A special congratulation goes to our MVP’s Victoria Mackenzie for Offense, Sarah

Jamieson (Ms. Dive and Swipe) for defense and

Hannah Whyte-Fagundes for Linewoman. We would also like to extend our appreciation of our alumni coaches Branka Celap and Ashley Denuzzo.

It was a great season!

Coaches: Mr. D. Drummond & Ms. G. Elango

ULTIMATE FRISBEE

This year again we had two teams for Ultimate, both with almost 30 members in each team. We played in four tournaments this year which added to our regular league play. Silverthorn again hosted a successful tournament in May for many Toronto and Peel teams. The A Team was our experienced team made up of predominantly Grade 12 students whom each had about 4 years experience playing

Ultimate. They had a very successful year winning the Consolation Plaque at the York Mills tournament, placing 7 th out of 24 teams at the

Annual Reach the Beach Tournament in Coburg and they won the West Regional Championship finally defeating Etobicoke C.I. who went undefeated all season. The B team was made up of mostly people new to Ultimate and still learning the sport. It was a great season and the members of the

A team will be missed next year.

Coaches D. MacAulay & H. Farrar

GIRLS’ VARSITY SOCCER TEAM

Congratulations to the girls’ soccer team on a very successful season! The girls ended the regular season by finishing 3 rd

in their division, with 2 wins

1 loss and 1 tie. In addition to this, the girls performed extremely well in the tournament by winning their division before losing in the semifinals! The girls won the AAA west title and advanced to the City Playoffs, where we defeated

Don Mills C.I. in the City Semi Final game. Despite an amazing performance in the City Finals, we lost a heartbreaker to Sir Oliver Mowat C. I., by a score of 1 to 0.

Girls’ soccer has a bright future at Silverthorn! Mr.

Kyriacou, Mr. Winders and Ms. DeMichino extend a personal farewell to Hannah Whyte-Fagundes and

Kristina Kacanski. Mr. Kyriacou and Mr. Winders wants you to know that it has been a pleasure coaching you for the past four year! We wish you success with your future endeavours! Have a great summer girls and get ready for the next season!

CLUBS AND TEAMS

COMPETITIVE DANCE TEAM

The Competitive Dance Team (coached by Ms. Duffy) is a huge commitment as it runs all year ---with auditions in September and ending in late May with THE SPRING

ART & DANCE SHOWCASE – which was amazing!

The Dance Team presented their last performance of the

2010/2011 school year at the annual RELAY FOR LIFE celebration. This has been a very exciting year! The

Competitive Dance Team competed in KINETIC

COHESION in Waterloo, ON in February and finished top in all categories. They then moved on to compete at

DANCEFEST in Windsor, Ontario in late March. At

DANCEFEST the team competes with schools from all over Ontario.

The Dance Team entered into the Contemporary, Jazz,

Lyrical, and Musical Theatre categories and came back with a 1st Place finish in Contemporary (performing

"Werewolf"), 2nd Place in Lyrical (performing "Use

Somebody"), 3rd Place in Jazz (performing

"Commander") and 3rd Place in Musical Theatre

(performing "Burlesque"). Madison Reilly was also presented with a very prestigious award for Overall Best

Choreography for "Werewolf".

Ms Duffy is so proud of the Dance Team and especially the spectacular DANCE TEAM captains, Madison

Reilly and Alanna Pierias who not only led the team but choreographed all of the dance pieces! Both of these young women have so much talent, respect, passion and drive!

Congratulations DANCE TEAM!

SEPA

The school’s environmental club has seen a most successful year of school based community activities.

Most recently, the “Adopt-a-Plant” classroom event was embraced by many of the home forms. Now the plants are hopefully growing in a backyard somewhere. Many thanks to the senior students who are dedicated to making sure the action plans ran well.

As of June 23 rd the official Board Environmental Audit evaluated Silverthorn as being a 1 st Rate “Gold Level” ranking Eco School. We encourage all Silverthorn students to keep living their life in a “sustainable” fashion.

LEADERSHIP

Our second Albion Hills camp in April was an outstanding success. The leaders inspired and encouraged the grade 9 campers to step out of their comfort zone and into their growth zone. The grade 9 campers were a positive energetic group who I believe will be the future leaders of SCI.

The Camp Manitou leaders have been training throughout the year. The Manitou Executive team and the leaders are organizing an exciting camp for

September 2011. Camp Manitou is a wonderful opportunity which allows students to develop leadership skills, self-confidence and self-esteem through a variety of student led activities.
