Production Manager Position Title: Production Manager Department(s): Operations Reports to: Director of Operations Position Type: Full-­‐time, Salaried, Exempt Company Description The Giving Keys exists to employ those transitioning out of homelessness to make jewelry out of repurposed keys that get sold and shared around the world. Each key is unique and carries a message like HOPE, STRENGTH, DREAM or COURAGE. When the wearer of the key encounters someone else who needs the message, they give it away and then send us their pay it forward story. Job Description The Production Manager is responsible for all day-­‐to-­‐day production at The Giving Keys. The Production Manager plans, schedules, strategizes, and oversees all production activities while continually building sales and maintaining profitability. The Production Manager performs essential functions to ensure overall customer satisfaction and quality service, and establishes and maintains effective communication with all internal employees and external vendors. The Production Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient planning, training and scheduling of personnel and equipment to reduce bottlenecks, problems and costs. Stays abreast of new technologies or opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Supervises, motivates, and supports the staff by empowering Production Coordinators, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication. Essential Functions and Responsibilities • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors. • Oversee all vendor communication regarding product components, delivery and timing to ensure product components make it in house, on time and complete. • Assess all project and resource requirements. • Ensure production is cost effective. • Manage all budgetary decisions for both labor forecasting and component allocation related to COGs according to current financial goals and opportunities. • Alert management and business associates on high-­‐risk areas, which may impact production. •

Drafting time scales and projecting unit growth capacity each week based on current order load and staffing. Oversight of Production Coordinators to ensure data is being entered into Orderbot and shipping targets are complete & on time. Management of Productivity reporting. Facilitate routine communication on goals, expectations and changes to Production team members (through regular check-­‐ins, team meetings, etc.). Management of Production Coordinators. Foster healthy, productive and proactive working environment in Production Room. Knowledge and Experience • 5+ years management experience required • Experienced Production Manager preferred • Background in retail preferred • Highly proficient in MS Office suite Working Environment • Able to work and thrive in a work environment with a moderate to loud noise level. • Standing for prolonged periods of time. • Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. • Exposure to ink and chemical fumes and airborne particles. • Fast-­‐paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
