TONIGHT’S QUIZ
Firstly, you are about to take part in the largest
simultaneous pub quiz ever held – so well
done you!
This evening, thousands of teams in thousands of
pubs up and down the country will be taking part
at exactly the same time, answering exactly the
same questions from just one single quizmaster,
with all the questions (and answers) delivered live
via the television in your pub.
As well as it being a great night, there are some
special prizes for you and your team that can
be won. There’s also a raffle in aid of Help for
Heroes with some incredible prizes and even
some live music to keep you entertained during
the interval.
The quiz starts at 7.30pm, so grab yourself a
drink, get comfy and be ready to exercise your
brain for the next few hours.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
• Teams can be no larger than a group of 5 people. If there are more than
5 people in your group, you will need to form another team!
• Put your team name on the front of this answer sheet.
• Listen out for the questions in each round. There will be 4 rounds in total and each
question will be read out a total of 3 times. If you are still not sure about a question
or if you missed a question, ask the team next to you – and if the volume isn’t loud
enough in your pub, ask the manager to turn it up ASAP!
• At the half-time point in the quiz after round 2, swap your answer sheet with another
team and listen out for the answers. Mark the sheet you have (awarding 1 point for a
correct answer), tally up the score on the sheet you are marking and swap your sheets
back. Again, if you miss an answer, ask the team next to you.
• On the subject of answers, the answer given is the answer we are looking for!
• At the end of the final round (round 4), swap your answer sheet with another team
again and listen out for the answers. Again, mark the sheet you have (awarding 1 point
for a correct answer), tally up the total score on the sheet from all the rounds and
hand the sheet you have to a member of staff in your pub.
• Listen out for a member of staff in your pub to call out the name of the winning
team! It could be you picking up a prize!
• In the event of a tie on points, the winning team will be chosen by the tie-breaker
questions at the end of round 4. The team whose answer is nearest to the actual
correct answer will be declared the winner.
• And finally, please do not use your mobile phone or any tablet device during the quiz
unless instructed to do so. It’s all about what you know; not what you can look up!

BELL’S BIG PUB RAFFLE IN AID OF
HELP FOR HEROES
During the evening we will be holding a ‘virtual’ pub raffle
to raise funds for the charity Help for Heroes who provide
direct, practical support to wounded, injured and sick Service
personnel, veterans and their families.
Our target is to raise £1 million.
How to buy a raffle ticket
Tickets for tonight’s raffle can be bought by simply sending a
SMS (text) message from your mobile phone with the word
HEROES to 85080. Once your message has been received
you will be sent a unique raffle ticket number by text to your
mobile handset.
Please note that all messages will be charged at £5.00 plus
one standard rate text message and all profits raised
(after network operators’ charges) will go to Help for Heroes.
Tonight the prizes up for grabs are:
• A trip to New York for 2 people (including flights and
a 3-night stay at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel)*
• L G (50inch) HD Ready 3D Smart Plasma TV
with Freeview
• A new 32gb iPad
Tickets can be bought at any time before the start of the quiz
at 7.30pm and the raffle will be drawn live during the quiz
interval – so remember to buy your tickets and keep your
ears peeled to see if you have won!
