1. The SI-CPS has been a great success over the last four years affording up to 50% extra
quality pool time to Cork region clubs, largely because of the generosity of the Brookfield
Leisure Centre and dedication of a number of coaches, in addition to the great efforts by the
swimmers. Four swimmers have already achieved the NPS times for 2015/16 and several
others are near these times. Two of the former individuals have been picked on Irish teams
for competitions this summer
2. Sessions are currently Monday and Friday mornings (05.15-07.00) and Friday afternoon
from 16.30-19.00. (Note that these times are subject to change if required.)
3. Yellow shading=NQT+10%; purple+9%; blue+8%
4. Younger age groups (boys b2002 and 2003 and girls b2002-2004) may be considered when
numbers of returning swimmers born 2001 and earlier become clear at the end of August.
5. Qualifying times must be achieved in certified LC events between 1 Jan and 31 Aug 2015.
6. Exceptional SC times in autumn 2015 (converting to better than LC QTs) may be
considered by the organising coaches (Richard Cassidy, Dee Cunningham and Tom Cross).
7. Membership of SI-CPS requires full attendance at club sessions
8. No injured swimmers are allowed into sessions until certified as fully recovered by their
club coach.
9. Swimmers will be expected to tell us in writing if they will be missing and WHY, but in
general we expect no absences except in the case of illness or injury.

1. Listed above are QTs for the SI-CPS for younger age groups (born 2002, 2003 and 2004) for the 2015/16 season.
2. They are calculated by adding 8% for girls and 10% for boys to the SI National youth squad QTs. (In the case of boys only 2002 NPS
times are listed so 2003 and 2004 times were calculated by adding 4% for each younger AG. The slightly easier times for boys were
designed to reverse the situation where more younger girls were qualifying than boys)
3. Unlike the older age groups, where qualification was required in LC events during the 2014/15 season, SC times achieved during the
2015/2016 season (or LC conversions) will be accepted. This is designed to improve the younger group of Cork swimmers, particularly
boys. The SI-CPS has now been running for three years and, in conjunction with greatly improved club programmes, has led to
substantial improvements in Cork competitive swimming for 14 year olds and older age groups. Now we intend to include three
younger year classes where great improvements are needed to ensure the future of Cork swimming.
4. Qualifiers are invited to attend the Monday and Friday morning session in Brookfield at 05:15 (and again we thank Brookfield for
their vital assistance to swimming in Cork).
5. The same conditions will apply as with the older squad members (full attendance at club sessions, notification to us if an individual is
unable to attend and why, training for at least a week at club level before returning to the squad after illness or injury).
