Boys & Girls Club Afterschool Art Classes 2015 -16!
It’s that time of the year again! That’s right… it’s time for Boys & Girls Club
afterschool art classes!
The Lea County Commission for the Arts is hosting afterschool art classes every Tuesday and Thursday
at the Boys and Girls Club. Classes begin September 8th and continue throughout the school year,
excluding holiday weeks. Students in the visual arts class will learn how to work with various mediums as
well as explore different techniques in creating. The visual art class will take place every Monday and
have two different groups, alternating each week (K-2nd grade – 1st week, 3rd-5th grade – following week,
vice versa). Participating 4th-6th graders will receive the opportunity to practice acting techniques such as
pantomime and rehearse skits and short plays to be presented for parents at the Center. The theatre classes
will take place every Tuesday at the club. See schedule below for more details. *Schedule is liable to
change, with certain holidays. Instructor will inform students well in advance of such matters.
Schedule
Tuesdays: 3:30 – 4:30pm
K – 2nd grade, 3rd – 5th grade (alternating groups)
Thursdays: 4: – 4:45pm
4th – 6th grade (theater)
