All members who have their picture
taken will receive a free 8x10 portrait and a
50th anniversary directory. Br ing a nonperishable food item to your appointment and
you will receive $5 off your order. Enter
through the office door before 5:00, Monday
through Friday, when coming for your picture appointment. The doors to the Gathering Place will be open after 5:00 and on Saturday.
Our theme for Advent is Hope. This week
we hear about Rekindling the Hope for God’s
Vision.

Advent Services will be held on Wednesday,
December 3rd , 10th and 17th at both 11:30 am
and 7:05 pm. Our evening services will include the Holden Evening Prayer with piano
and strings or brass.
Don’t miss the beautiful Advent/Christmas
Music of the Heartland Handbells! They
will be playing for our Saturday, December 6th
5:30 service. They will be joined on some
songs by our Brass, a flute, timpani and organ.

The Peace Christmas Festival Concert
(featuring the Peace Brass, Adult Bell Choir,
organ and other instruments and vocals) will
be held on Sunday, December 7th at 7:00.

Welcome to Peace Lutheran. We'r e so glad you chose to

and in love toward all. Large print bulletins, order of worship
bulletins, and hearing devices are available from the ushers.
The nursery is open Satur days 5:30 p.m., Sundays 9:00,
10:10 and 11:20 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7:05 p.m.
Necessities for Neighbors is next week! When you come
to worship next weekend, bring along some toilet paper, diapers or feminine hygiene products for our neighbors in need.

I Was There – Wednesdays in Advent: Wednesdays in
Advent are different from the weekend service. We continue
the popular series we did last Lent with first person monologues, eyewitness accounts to the Christmas story. This
Wednesday we hear from John the Baptist’s father, Zechariah. Service are at 11:30 & 7:05.
Thanks to everyone who made Peace WELCA’s first Soupless Soup Supper a huge success! The donations totaled
$3,622, surpassing last year’s Soup Supper net total of
$2,921! In addition to the donations received, the West Minnehaha Chapter of Thrivent pledged an additional $500 for
the event. WELCA members are also signing up for Thrivent
Action Teams to get additional funds for projects here at
Peace and throughout the community. Our latest benevolence gifts from the proceeds were for Christmas gifts for
Good Samaritan Village residents and for Peace Meals. All
women are invited to our Dec. 15 meeting at 6:30 to help
decide on more benevolence giving, to celebrate the successes of the year, and to make exciting plans for next year!

WELCA is gathering items for needy school
children. Items may be placed in the donation
cabinet in the marked drawer in the Coat Room
The items needed are gloves, hats, scarves, underwear, socks, sweatshirts and other cold
weather gear for boys and girls. If you would
like to have our bargain shoppers purchase items
for you, monetary donations can be put in the
designated container at the Welcome Center.
Checks should be made out to Peace WELCA.
Boxes of Thanksgiving cards and Christmas
cards ar e available in the libr ar y. All have a
Christian message. The price is on the bottom of
the box; leave the money for the cards in the librarian mailbox in the hall by the church office,
if librarian is not available.
Library: The DVD “Just in Time for Christmas” - Grandpa Jim is supposed to make a
guest appearance at the Christmas program in
Branson, MO. Because of his lateness the children get out of control, and the director is running out of patience. In the meantime, Grandpa
Jim’s truck has an unfortunate break down. He
hails a police officer for a ride into town, and a
special treat in a meaningful way to God is
found.
There will be a WELCA meeting Monday,
December 15 at 6:30 pm in the Shalom Room.
Free Directory Pictures: A large number of
the free 8x10 pictures have arrived. Check
the box on the stand in the Gathering Space next
to the library book case and XYZ stand if you
had your picture taken and did not purchase anything. Your picture will be there now or later.
