FOR USE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MAIN CONTRACT”

SYNOPSIS
This seminar will introduce the REDAS Design & Build Conditions of Sub-Contract for
the engagement of the Named Sub-Contractors by the Design & Build Contractor.
The publication of the REDAS Design & Build Conditions of Sub-Contract is intended
specifically to complement the use of the REDAS Design & Build Conditions of Main
Contract (3rd Edition).
This REDAS Design & Build Conditions of Sub-Contract is produced in response to
the absence of a standard set of Sub-Contract Conditions for the Main Contract, which
has resulted in the adoption of various Forms of Sub-Contract Conditions.
With the adoption of this Set of Conditions of Sub-Contract for use with the Main
Contract, there should be a greater degree of certainty of the Sub-Contract terms in
the industry.
Mr. Raymond Chan, as the draughtsman of the REDAS Design & Build Conditions of
Sub-Contract, will explain its provisions in detail and the intent of these provisions.
Mr. Cheang Kok Kheong, who is a member of the REDAS Design & Build Committee,
will speak on the industry’s perspective with regards to the REDAS Design & Build
Conditions of Sub-Contract.
The other members of the REDAS Design & Build Committee include Mr. Ng Chee
Seng, Mr. Lee Yew Kwung, Mr. Billy Wong, Mr. Gasper Wong, Mr. Seah Choo Meng,
Mr. Winston Hauw, and Ms. Quek Chay Hoon.
