Dear CCA Family:
Please read this letter filled with important information!

Piano lessons will begin this Thursday. Please see the attached letter from Miss Kim Gabbard who will
be our teacher for piano this year!

Swimming will begin this Friday! Please fill out and return the attached permission forms for this
class. There will be two classes – Grades K-2 at 12:45 and grades 3-6 at 1:45. Transportation will be
provided to and from the YMCA by the YMCA van. There will be a life guard, an instructor and a
representative from CCA with each class. Cost is $10.00 per child for a six weeks session. If your
child is not participating, he will be with a teacher at CCA during the class time and will work on his
regular class work. Please be sure your child has proper swim attire (girls, one piece and modest,
please) and a towel.

Physical Education Opportunity - Students in grades 7 – 12 will be using equipment at the YMCA for
physical training on Fridays from 1:30 to 2:30. Cost - $10 per student per 6 week session.
Participation in this class is required unless permission for an alternative physical activity has been
given by the Administration.

Volleyball practice for girls in grades 3-12 is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 p.m.

Regarding Lunches Please make sure that you fill out the form for McDonalds and return it each Wednesday if your child
wishes to order.
Pizza will be available on Fridays.
Forms for these two food services are available on the website under parent information if you need to
print them. Extra forms are available at the front desk.
Snacks will soon be available for purchase by the PTT. We will send home a list of items and cost.

Community Service – During the month of September we will allow students to buy an out of uniform
ticket each Friday for a donation of at least $1. That money will be collected and donated to St. Jude’s
Hospital for critically ill children. Donations other than the dollars will also be accepted. If you choose
to participate, please check the handbook to make sure your child is still properly dressed for school
attendance.


For Art – empy, clean vegetable or fruit cans with labels removed and no sharp edges, big five
gallon buckets, empty frozen food trays

Spaghetti Dinner/Auction and Talent Show Coming soon…..this is a major fund raiser for the
school….watch the website and email for more information……

Box Tops…Please send in Box Tops to allow us to take advantage of the many items we can earn with
them. Miss Brandy Boettcher has agreed to take care of this responsibility for us.

We are asking everyone for the safety of our children to observe the following guidelines when pulling
into the parking lot.
 Enter on Ashland Avenue and stay in the line until your child is sent or brought to you
depending on the age of your child.
 Exit on Lafayette
 If you need to park to do business, park on the side away from the school building. Do not park
next to the building because children can run between cars and terrible accidents could happen.
 Parking on the street is very risky for you and your child.

Payments – Mrs. Krieger is available mornings from 7:30 to 8:00 to receive payments. Otherwise,
please mail payments to Cornerstone Christian Academy, P.O. Box 12824, Norwood, Ohio 45212.


Scholastics - Please get your Scholastic orders in as quickly as possible if you plan to order.

 Friday – Sept. 9 – Special Art Day with Miss Rachel Jones visiting!
 Thursday – Sept. 22 – Teacher/Family Conferences (3 to 8 p.m.) Check by the front desk to make
an appointment with your child’s teacher.
 Friday – September 23 – LATE START – 10:00 A.M. TEACHER MEETING TIME!
o On September 11, 2011 Ashland Ave. Baptist Church will celebrate its 60th anniversary. We would love
to have a good representation of visitors from our CCA Family to show our appreciation for the
support the church has given us through the years.
o We have available fund raiser cards for you to sell. These cards sell for $10.00. $5.00 of that money can
be applied to your account personally if you wish to sell these cards. This would help lower your cost
for book fees. Please let us know if you wish to participate.
