Dear Mr. Stender:
I received your contact information and was told about the great yearly internship
program with Merrill Lynch through Tucker Loken-Dahle, one of your past interns
and a close friend of mine. I am currently an undergrad at the University of Oregon
and as a double major in Finance and Economics I feel that I have the credentials
that you seek for in a prospective intern. Along with my diverse background and
foundation of past internships, I believe that I acquired the strong analytical skills
and confident leadership capabilities needed to bring a new outlook to your
financial institution.
As a young Tibetan refugee I have experienced a lot already – struggling for
freedom, living in other cultures and speaking four languages all have motivated me
to push harder. As a member of the Merrill Lynch team, I feel that I can have an
impact in building economically responsible communities and humane businesses.
Through my business courses I have gained the necessary skills to meet all the
cross-culture communications. During my internship in Portland at Green Gables,
I’ve developed excellent communication skill, ability to work well in teams and able
to indentify potential communication problems within a group setting. My past
internship experiences have equipped me with sharp financial statement analysis
skills, excellent financial modeling skills and diligent communication skills. By
working in many cross-cultural environments I have the ability to motivate and
effectively communicate with people of many different backgrounds. Additionally
during my years in India, I’ve gained insights in corporate finance, which has
conceptualized my view of finance in a more global sense.
Attached is a copy of my resume with future background information. Merrill
Lynch’s core principle of putting clients’ interests first and to foster an inclusive
culture where employees are driven to perform and operate with the highest
integrity is where my future lies. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Tenzing Atsentsang
