The North Star Hotel is a venue that is both intimate yet large enough to hold a crowd!
We have a number of indoor and outdoor spaces that can be creatively used for many
different styles of events. We are always happy to find a unique way
to make your event special
Where is the North Star Hotel?
The North Star Hotel is in the historic township of Melrose, in the Southern Flinders Ranges.
Approximately 3 hours drive north of Adelaide. The North Star is a great alternative venue
to Port Augusta or Port Pirie.

The Jacka Room - Private Meeting/Dining Room
The Jacka room is a great venue for small group meetings
Boardroom style seating/Dinner – 10-15 guests

Large table at one end of the room, lounge seating at the other, a light filled room, with
heating, and access to outdoor area

weddings, christenings, parties and

We are always happy to be challenged to create a new space for your event- a
marquee in the grounds or perhaps a cocktail party for a small group on the verandah
looking down our historic main street

as individual rooms or as group accommodation

THINGS TO DO IN MELROSE
Excellent bike trails
Melrose is the centre of bike riding in the Flinders Ranges. There are many trails in
and around Melrose from easy to difficult, ride out to the showgrounds (easy) or
tackle Mount Remarkable(difficult!!) Bike hire from Over The Edge Sports. Guided
rides available if booked in advance. Go to otesports.com.au for more info on rides
in the area.
Mt Remarkable National Park Walking trails
Hike Mount Remarkable or take a shorter walk to Cathedral Rock or walk around
town and look at all the beautiful historic buildings. Melrose is at the foot of Mt
Remarkable National Park, and the Heysen trail which runs from the Parachilna
gorge to Cape Jarvis, runs right through town.
National Trust Museum
An excellent museum right in the heart of Melrose, beautiful grounds and excellent
tours, definitely worth a visit

a 3 minute walk away.
Day trip to the Prairie Hotel, Parachilna
Our famous sister hotel is only 3 hours drive through the scenic Flinders Ranges, try
their famous “Feral Mixed Grill”
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Confirmation
We will hold a tentative booking for 7 days, if we have not heard from in this time, the date
will be released. Upon confirming event a deposit of $350, is required.
Final numbers and menu will need to be confirmed 21 days prior to event date. This is the
number for which you will be charged.
Responsibility
You are financially responsible for any damage/breakages to North Star Hotel by your
guests, invitees or other persons attending your event. North Star will not accept
responsibility for the damage or loss of merchandise left prior to or after the event, this
includes personal property, audio visual hire equipment, displays and signs.
Cleaning
General cleaning is included in the cost of your event. If cleaning requirements following
your event are deemed to be excessive by the Manager, an additional cleaning charge
will be incurred.
Confetti is not permitted inside the hotel or within grounds
Compliance
The North Star Hotel management reserves the right to exclude or eject any objectionable
persons from the North Star without liability
Pricing
All prices are subject to change and availability. Menu pricing is set and confirmed once
custom menus are approved.
Payment
All accounts are to be settled prior to the event unless arranged otherwise, all daily
charges to be settled at the conclusion of event.
All cheque payments must be received no later than two weeks prior to event
commencement of your event.
Cancellations
For cancellations with less than 21 days notice will incur a cancellation fee of 75% of all
deposits paid. Cancellations of more than 21 days, but less than 6 weeks will incur a
cancellation fee of 50% of all deposits paid. Cancellations of more than 6 weeks notice
will result in a cancellation fee of $100.
Security
Security may be required for some events according to our licence stipulations. This
addional cost will be added to your final invoice.

Sunday-Thursday: midnight closure
Friday: 1.00am closure
Saturday: 2.00am closure
We may close earlier at our discretion.
