The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
“ASPCA”
Many believe that it is our “civic duty” or responsibility as citizens, to give back to our community
when ever we can. A charity is something that helps out others in need. The charity I want you to
join is the ASPCA. The ASPCA stands for American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals. It is an organization that supports animals that have been involved in abuse or cruelty and
you can be their voice. People should join the ASPCA to support abusive and neglected animals that
can’t stand up for them selves. I would like you to join the ASPCA because you can be that one
voice that can change a life of an animal in need.
The background of the ASPCA is an all around twenty-four hour commitment that is taken
very seriously. The goals of the ASPCA is to prevent animal cruelty and find animals permanent,
loving homes for America’s adoptable pets. The founder of the ASPCA is Henry Bergh. In 1866 he
wanted to prevent the cruelty and neglect that animals receive all though out the United States, so he
took the neglected working horses and the puppies from puppy mills and made them into a
professionally run adoption facility to founding an animal hospital. Henry believed that all animals
are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the
law. The ASPCA works to rescue animals in need of help. They are granted legal authority to
investigate and arrest people who have chosen to abuse or neglect their animals. The headquarters
was founded in New York City. There are all ready over one million supporters to be a voice for
animals in need.

You should support The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals because
it is a very well known society and you can be the one who can change the devastating lives of these
animals. Remember that every single animal is entitled to a long healthy life just like humans and
they do need the love and support from people who are willing to make an effort and reach out a
hand for the animals who cannot speak up for themselves. You should join the ASPCA because you
can make a difference; along with joining, in the mail you will receive a free t-shirt, bracelet, a
picture of an animal that you helped and a card saying that you are an official member. It is very
easy to help support the ASPCA here is how.
The help that the ASPCA wants from you is to simply log on to their website or call their
number and donate money to become a special guardian of an animal that the ASPCA is helping.
The ASPCA’s goal is to focus more resources on their lifesaving programs, and less on raising the
necessary funds. When you donate all you have to do is give a monthly gift of twenty-five dollars or
more every month, or a yearly gift of twenty-five dollars or more. It is a simple task and in the end
you will save an animals life.
I want you to join and stop the cruelty to animals today because with out you in this
organization these animals wont have a voice to help them stand up to the people who have chosen
to neglect or abuse these helpless creatures. With out your support these animals will not have a
fighting chance, So please join the ACPCA today and you will never regret it.
