Expectations
A certain level of dedication and independence is expected of students in this university
preparation course.
 Readings will be assigned regularly. Students are expected to read actively, to
take notes and to bring questions to class.
 Stay on top of things! This course moves quickly. Don’t let yourself fall behind.
 All assigned work must be completed and submitted on time.
 Assignments and labs will not be accepted after they have been returned to the
class.
 All tests are compulsory and are included in your term mark. Severe illness is the
only legitimate reason for missing a test. It may not always be possible to write a
make-up test.
 If a test or lab date conflicts with an existing appointment, inform your teacher
before the test so that other arrangements may be made. If you do miss a test,
report to your teacher before school on the day you return to school.
 Remember that a note, including date and reason, validated by the VPO is
required for any absence. In addition, if a test was missed, an indication that a test
was missed is required on the note.
