Course Description:
Global History 9H is the first half of an advanced and rigorous 2 year program in Global History.
This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to challenge themselves while
building historical analysis and critical thinking skills. Students will be required to do a great
deal of independent reading from a college-level text and will be assessed with frequent quizzes
(both announced and unannounced), projects, exams, and writing assignments based on the AP
standard as well as New York State Regents and Core Curriculum standards.
This course will include both a midterm and final exam. Students who maintain an 85% overall
average will be eligible for the 10th Grade AP course that culminates in an AP Exam in May and a
Regents Exam in June of their sophomore year.
Materials:
 Three-ring loose leaf binder for this class only
 2 packages of 3x5 white lined index cards
 Marble 1-subject notebook

* The text must be covered and can be left at home. You will be told in advance when to bring it
in. All other supplies as well as a pen and pencil must be brought to class daily.
