PART III
On the following pages, data is presented on university majors or “feeder programs”
combining numbers from both the undergraduate and graduate degrees. This data was
abstracted from applicant pools 2000-2005 – except that data from 2001 only includes the
interview pool. The final table also lists the top five US feeder schools.
Many majors are broadly defined; e.g.,

“Education” includes educational leadership, instructional design, and higher
education administration majors

“International Studies” includes international relations, international development,
international finance, international economic development, and international political
economy majors

“Law” includes justice, law and public policy, and legal studies majors

“Management” includes business administration, marketing and strategic
management majors

“Political Science” includes government majors

“Psychology” includes clinical psychology, counseling, educational psychology and
forensic psychology majors

“Public Health” includes health administration majors

Social Work” includes: social service administration
Student majors for which only one or two students earned degrees in these areas are not
included in the report.
Finally, in the few cases where all the degrees in a certain major where earned at the same
university, the school name is noted in parenthesis after the feeder program.
Table 1 US Feeder Degree Programs, 2000-2005
