“ Fundamentals of Mechanical Component Design” 3rd Ed. By Juvinall and
Marshek, Wiley, 2000
Objectives: To learn to employ the basic mechanical analysis techniques taught in the
prerequisite courses in the design evaluation and redesign of functional mechanical
devices.
Prerequisites by Topics:
1. Statics.
2. Strength of Materials.
3. Materials.
Grading Policy: H.W. (15%), Class participation (5%), 1st Exam (25%), 2nd Exam (25%),
Final Exam (30%) or Project (30%).
