Junior Mechanical Construction Engineer ( Melut Basin Oil Project PDOC Pipeline)
(The Melut Basin oil project is one of the major sources of crude oil in Africa)


To work at Petrodar Operating Co. sites during construction of all PDOC Pipe line and
downstream facilities (pumping stations and marine terminal,…etc)
Work at Pump station No. 4 at (AL Ilafoon east of Khartoum) as PCT resident engineer.
Major tasks are:






Follow up all mechanical construction activities. (piping,
equipments,…etc)
Work closely with EPC contractor and facilitate his mission.
Insure the quality of equipments installation work.
Coordinate and witness Hydraulic Tests for Tanks, Pipes.
Follow up the project plan with PMC.
Prepare Daily, weekly and monthly report.

(2) August 2006- October 2013: PETRODAR OPERATING COMPANY “PDOC”. (Sudan).
(Petrodar Operating Company Ltd. is an operating company to carry out exploration,
development and production of oil for Block 3E, 7E and 3D in Sudan. The company is
incorporated under the laws of the British Virgin Islands and has a registered branch in
Sudan. The shareholder of PDOC is a consortium of international Exploration & Production
oil companies).
I joined PETRODAR Co. at August 2006 up to date, during this period I served PDOC in several positions as follow:
(i) Mechanical Engineer (Pipe Line Operation Department, Construction Section
Major Tasks were:







Development & Enhancement Mechanical work supervision at PDCO Sites.
Contact vendors to get the required services or materials.
Follow up purchasing process with logistic department.
To do the technical evaluations for technical proposals and quotations, prepare the
technical evaluation sheet.
Material receive and segregation and transportation to sites.
Prepare all the progress reports related to mechanicalwork.
Assist PL/O Construction head in all related work.
Prepare in house and overseas training plan for maintenance staff.
(ii) Mechanical Construction Engineer (PETRODAR Co. Headquarter Office Building Project)
Construction of PDOC Co. Headquarter office building, the building includes a main office
building of 15 stories with one Basement annexed to the main building a multi services
building of 3 stories. The function of the PDOC Headquarter Building include the offices,
office spaces, meeting rooms, lounges, toilets, prayer rooms, library, lecture rooms, training
center, banquet room, central kitchen and other ancillaries for 1000 person of the staff,
Indoor games/gymnasium, outdoor sports, social and health club, sauna rooms, Mosque
for 150 person, Multi-media Theater / cinema for 250 person, Cafeteria/restaurant,
underground garages, mechanical & electrical rooms etc.
Total built area is 38,893.57 M2 with total cost of 97,000,000 USD and duration of 2.5
years.
Major Tasks were:










Reviews and gives approvals for all mechanical related submissions by the contractor.
Verifies that materials, manufactured goods, machinery, equipment, etc supplied to the
job site are in line with projects specification and granted approvals.
Review HVAC, WSD, F.F and all MEP detailed design drawings with PMC and EPCC
contractor in order to meet the client requirements.
Field walk down with design engineers.
Verify design constructability including procedure and code compliance.
Verify field conditions vs. Design output
Review all mechanical’s technical submittals concerning MEP materials and
equipments and give the comments to PMC and EPCC contractor.
Follow up procurement plan and purchasing status.
Follow up the site mechanical construction work.
Selection of some local vendors and subcontractor to share in PDOC building project.
Supervise all local subcontractors and support them during work.

Issuing of all official letters for owner to PMC or EPCC contractor concerning
mechanical discipline issues.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress report and discuss them with PMC and
EPCC contractor before submitting to project team leader.
Represent owner in all meetings for mechanical issues.
Site installation inspections.
Site testes. (Pressure test for pipes, light leak tests for air ducts, performance tests for
machines…etc).
Work together with PMC & EPCC during testing and commissioning.
Support PDOC staff during movement to the new building.
Share in establishing the new section of operation and maintenance for PDOC
building.
Prepare the mechanical punching list items and remaining work.
Follow the punching list items clearance and witness closing of items.
Follow and inspect EPCC contractor work during the warranty period.
(3) October 2013 up to now: PETROLSTEEL CO. LTD “PSCL”. (KSA - JUBAIL).

Supervise and control the following Scope of Works and its implementation:
 all procurement / Logistics and warehouse related activities and routinely activities.
 all procurement related correspondences, reports, transmittals and schedules
 all vendor review, pre-qualifications and evaluation processes
 all procurement related queries within the organization and other interfacing departments
 all departmental manuals, policies and procedures
 all departmental records both in documents and by computer systems.
 all personnel and personnel’s activities under the department.
 Implementations of new procedures, methods and techniques that are cost effective for the company and
efficient enough covering all areas of responsibilities.
 To monitor and observe competency of each of the persons working in the department thereby providing an o
site departmental training in order to assess a more better and effective stores structure that apparently wou
improve more in the handling of all day-to-day operations.
 Implement and Maintain the company’s quality system and the department’s warehouse operating manual an
to motivate personnel to achieve the objective of “doing the right thing and doing things right”.
