Planes that divide the body:
Sagittal Plane
 The sagittal plane divides the body into a right and left part.
 If this is done on the mid-line of the body, it is known as the
mid-sagittal plane.

Drawing:
Transverse Plane
 This plane divides the body into a superior (top) and inferior
(bottom) half.
 This plane is commonly called a cross section.
It is used a great deal in MRI and CT scans.

Drawing:
Frontal or Coronal Plane
 This divides the body into a front section (anterior section) and
a back (posterior) section.
 Just remember: frontal section divides the body or and organ
to have a front section!

