3 ring (Science Only) binder (about 2 inches or larger)

Pencils  A pencil is required EVERY LAB DAY. If a student fails to bring
their own pencil they will receive a pencil from me and DETENTION WITH ME.
*** (These materials are to be brought every class and lab.) Parents, please support your
child in taking responsibility for arriving to each class prepared with ALL required
materials.

Grading:
Tests: 80-120 pts. each.
Labs: 20 pts. each --- Labs will not be accepted until fully correct.
Journal Quizzes/Quizzes/Science in the News: 10-25 pts. each.
Homework and Notebook checks: 1-50 pts. each.
Class work: 5-100 pts. each.
Group Project: TBD????  (Poster: 100 pts. /Power Point Presentation: 100 pts.)
*Mid semester and end of semester grades are determined with a total point system.
Extra Help:
I am available during study hall or by appointment for extra help or to make up a missed
lab.
YOU are responsible for making up all missed classes, and completing all homework and
labs on time. Assignments will be posted on the board each day as they are given. I am
in the process of developing a website which will also provide you and your
parent/guardian the ability to view homework assignments. If you are absent, call/text a
friend, check the board or website, or see me to get the assignment. Missed labs must be
made up before the Final Due Date for that section of Labs (Refer to website).
The Board of Regents requires all students to successfully complete a minimum of
1200 minutes of laboratory experience and to submit written records. These must
be kept on file after the student completes the course. If the student does not meet
this minimum requirement he or she will not be allowed to take the Regents
examination in June.
*I reserve the right to make any changes at any time under special circumstances. I will
provide a new document if I make any changes.
