Book Review - Oral Presentation
Presentations are June 7, 10, & 11
Begin reading your teacher-approved book as soon as possible.
You will be given extra time to read in the classroom.
You can record this project for TAPS if you read it at home.
Presentation must include the following information (length 2-3 minutes):
The title, author, and illustrator (if there is one) of the book
The main or primary setting(s) (place and/or time)
Brief description of the main character(s)
A brief summary of the story (you may want to leave out the ending)
Evaluation: Your opinion of book (favorite or least favorite parts, overall rating, etc.).
Students can read one short passage from the book if they like.
 Recommendation: Would you recommend this book to others? (Who else might like
the book? boys, girls, older/younger, interests, etc.)





You may use your book as a visual aid during your report, bring props, or dress in character.
Plan to use notes only (tip – place sticky notes on back of book with key details). Students
should not read directly from pre-written paragraphs !
In addition to receiving a score for Speaking Skills (volume, expression, clarity, etc.),
students will also receive a Reading Comprehension/Analysis score based on the content
quality of their presentation.
